My wife & I stayed at the Stephen Daniels House in September 2009, the home is very nice, part of the home was built in 1667, the other in 1756, the home has some amazing antiques & is like stepping back in time. We love Salem & visit several times a year, this is one of our favorite places. The... more

If you are seeking the true Salem experience, you must stay at this inn. We were warmly welcomed by Kay at our arrival with hot tea, a wonderful background history and tour of the inn. She pointed out some local hot spots and good places to dine, all within close walking distance. The rooms were marvelous and as we lay... more

Hopefully Kay Gill will be around for another 70+ years to charmingly accomodate all in her lovely home, furnished everywhere in period appropriate antiques. Antiques that are there to use and live in, not, as someone else also noted, behind red ropes in a museum. I learned from her superb new helper, Linda, NOT from Mrs. Gill, that in the... more

My husband , stepdaughter and I stayed at the Daniel's House in December 2005. We were lucky enough to have the house to ourselves. We stayed in the great room (the suite in the oldest part of the house), my stepdaughter had her own twin room ( a small hallway connects both rooms), and there's a spacious bathroom, My family... more

Stay here if you want to truly step back in time. The house is one of the oldest in Salem, everything in the house is authentic, & the owner is an historian. I had trouble finding much else interesting in Salem. You could spend a month just exploring the Stephen Daniels House. I cannot wait until I stay there again.... more

My best friend and I were over from England to attend a wedding in Boston. We decided to take a little trip up to Gloucester and Salem and staty the night in Salem. We found out about this little guesthouse from our Lonely Planet and picked it because it said it dated back to before the witch trials. I had... more

We stayed for 7 nights in early October and would gladly have stayed much longer if possible. The house is located in about as perfect a location as could be. Close to the centre of Salem but on a quiet side street, five minutes walk to the museums and shops. Kay Gill, owner of the house, greeted us warmly and... more

This B&B exceeded our expectations: it was like going into a wonderful time machine. The owner, Kay Gill, was delightful and a lovely person. She has decorated the rooms with an astounding collection of antiques. You feel like you have stepped back into the 1600's or 1700's. If you love historic sites, then Salem is your place and this B&B... more

A beautiful home in the heart of Salem, within walking distance of every attraction in town. The owner, Kay, was a gracious host who genuinely loved sharing her home with us. Her collection of antiques is incredible, with some of her pieces dating back beyond the American Revolution. The home was built in two stages, the first in 1667, and... more

Our favorite part of each visit to Salem has been staying at the Stephen Daniels House. Each exquisite room is filled with beautiful antiques. Kay Gil, the Innkeeper, is passionate about her house and a gracioius hostess. Staying here is truly a wonderful experience. Lady & Iain Haight-Ashton more
