Due to problems early in our trip out from Michigan, finances were tight and, to be honest, we didn't expect much for for the Clipper Ship's low room rate advertized in a travel guide we'd picked up. We were pleasantly surprised by a spacious, clean room close to everything we wanted to see in Salem and good restuarants within a... more

Me & my friends stayed at the Clipper Ship Inn this past October 2007. We came to Salem, MA for the Halloween festivites :) We did not have any real problems with this motel. And for the most part, it was a pleasant stay :) Instead of blah continental breakfast, they gave us $18 worth of Dunkin Donuts gift cards... more

Clipper Ship Inn was just fine; it is a no frills sort of place to stay. It was clean and the rooms were spacious. It is within walking distance to Salem historical sites but it is a little bit of a walk- maybe a mile. Our stay was OK and if I visited Salem again I would stay there. more

Booked via phone from UK and found the hotel to be better than some of the previous reviews would suggest. Room was large and clean. Came over to see our daughter and found no problems with the area, we walked from main area of Salem to hotel and vice versa both day and night without any problems. Saw cats around... more

My husband being a native of Beverly, Mass knew of the Clipper Ship from past knowledge. This is the second time my husband has stayed here and my first. We did not experience any sort of problem. The price of a nights stay at the Clipper Ship is reasonable. We stayed 12 nights for a little over $900.00 including tax.... more
