This has been one of my favorite places to stay in San Antonio. It is clean, really nice, comfortable, and the service is the best of the best! more

I write from a unique perspective. The Ayers Inn was built in 1908 for my grandparents, Louis William Hartung and Matilda Kunkel Hartung, and it was their home until their deaths in the late 1950s. My sister Hazel and I spent so many days and nights there in our youth that it seemed our second home. My husband, sister and... more

This was my wife and I's first trip to a bed and breakfast and we had an excellent time. The Ayres Inn is beautiful. Our room was great (the bed was slightly uncomfortable for our taste), the service was EXCELLENT, the food was wonderful, and the espresso machine was a nice touch. I would recommend the Ayres in to anyone... more

My husband & I wanted a quiet and relaxing place to stay while in San Antonio. This definitely fit the bill & it was just a few minutes by car to the waterfront. Hector was very friendly & helpful with anything that we needed. A very elegant B&B. Would definitely stay here again & would recommend to friends & family. more

I stayed at the 1908 Ayres Inn during my annual one-week business trip to San Antonio. What usually is a hectic and stressful trip, turned into something like a vacation. The Inn was truly a refuge after a long day and I looked forward to coming back each evening. The room was great and the service even better. I recommend... more

My husband and I traveled to San Antonio for our anniverssry. We stayed at 1908 Ayres our last three nights in town. Let me just say that I was very excited about staying here, especially after reading the reviews and seeing that no one had anything negative to say. My husband and I were very disappointed. We stayed in the... more

In regards to the above critique please review all our guests’ comments and make the decision about the 1908 Ayres Inn for yourself. I have to say that I am just completely shocked about the negativity on this review. Since our opening two years ago, these are the first guests that apparently did not enjoy their stay. We have gotten...

Great amenities, atmosphere, furnishings, decor, service, linens, style and value. Shared thermostate is a drawback, but offers in room heat, fan and A/C to set the climate as you wish. Breakfast is not a full offering, but the baked goods are tasty. Full service tea selection, coffee, milk, OJ, soda and bottled water are always available. Yogart, ceral, oatmeal, bagels,... more

I loved the rooms and service provided by Mike and Hector. I came to San Antonio for the Rock and Roll Marathon and stayed here because of the high ratings and proximity to the start line (less than 3 miles away). It is approximately 2.5 miles from downtown so it is helpful to have a car to get around. The... more

I was in San Antonio for a wedding and opted to stay here instead of where the other guests were staying and am so happy with my decision. I didn't want to leave! It was perfect! more

We stayed at the 1908 Ayres Inn for an overnight trip to San Antonio. The rooms were pretty and very clean, with soft towels and L'Occitane bath products. They have a great coffee machine and breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very helpful and polite. The only downside was that we had to drive into downtown San Antonio because it... more
