Five of us stayed here for the Lackland graduation ceremonies. It's not the greatest place but it's close to the base and a great price. Yes, the carpet left something to be desired. This hotel was filthy. The carpet was so dirty my daughter's soles of her feet were black from going barefoot. The bathtub had a reconstructed insert that was lined with black mold. Stayed there while attending an airshow in Hondo. GREAT proximity to the highway, easy to get to. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was nice - a queen bed suite with small fridge, sink and microwave. But no silverware which made it hard to eat my leftovers. Great shower. The large suite with 2 twin beds, kitchenette, family room and 1 full bath. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size fridge and freezer, and stove. However, there are no utensils to use the and I typically don't keep pots and pans in the trunk when I travel. Most surprisingly is the fact there's also no microwave for heating food.... more
