This Hilton has just undergone a huge renovation. I had a room on the 16th floor and it was nicely remodeled. It had the feel of a European hotel with the decor and bathroom fixtures. The balcony was nice, as well, since the weather was great when I was there I spent some time out there. Room service was good... More

We have stayed here twice, the latest was the summer of 2011. We love this hotel, and will stay here whenever we are going to the Riverwalk. This hotel was built in the 1960's, and it is right in the middle of the main part of the Riverwalk. The hotel elevator takes you down to the river. Each room has... More

There was blood on the sheets. Clearly where you could see it. They gave us a dinner for two to Ibiza. When we walked in I was in shock. It is straight out of the 80's. Ugly. And DIRTY. The two tables beside us never got cleaned. The kids menus were disgusting. We stayed for the free meal. What a... More

Nice job on the remodel, except for a couple of quirks, like the pictures being hung about a foot lower than usual. Great lighting throughout, except for center of bathroom mirror--difficult for a man to shave his face. Odd sliding wooden door that closed of EITHER the closet OR the bathroom, but not both. However, the furnishings, views and especially... More

I got a deal for 50% for a one night stay which included valet and buffet breakfast for 2, First room smelled of mildew and was behind ice machine/vending machine area, Moved us to a better room with a slight view of end of Riverwalk. Breakfast was good. It was convenient to stow our luggage and return after Sunday morning... More

Although the rooms have recently been renovated, the overall hotel needs some TLC. Hotel looks and feels the same as my first stay in 1980. Tight basement dining room. Great location though with easy access to the many food/bar options on the Riverwalk; eat elsewhere such as Zucco's at the Westin or Boudro's. Also very close to the downtown mall. More

We stayed at The Palacio Del Rio for the third time in 3-4 years, again for a business meeting. The hotel has nearly finished a renovation which, although improves the looks and feel, is not more than that, a cosmetic overhaul with form over function. Case in point: the bathrooms, nice to look at, but the sliding door in place... More

I stayed in this hotel when I was a little girl and in December 2011, my daughter got married in La Vallita on the Riverwalk and this was our wedding hotel. We were very excited. The hotel has been renovated and is very lovely but ( note here: I had decided not to write the following but when I read... More

This is the worst Hilton I have ever been and one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences in general (if I take out of the equation "motel 6" and similar. It started with the check in I was the only one checking in at that time. There were 3 clerks at the reception, 2 women and one man. One of... More

I stayed at the Hilton Palacio del Rio overnight during my oral boards for board certification in psychiatry. The rooms were blocked out specifically for this purpose several months before. Unfortunately, they scheduled the entire block of rooms full of doctors facing a major once in a lifetime (hopefully) professional exam directly below a ballroom with full band set-up and... More
