Recently a whole gaggle of family descended on us here in Santa Fe, and we had to find just the right place for them to stay in order to really savor what this city is all about. There was only one solution to our desire and that was the El Rey Inn. Long a jewel for visitors, the El Rey... More

This El Rey is owned by a family. Most of the employees have been there for years. The ambiance is warm southwest. I return here every year when I visit Santa Fe. More

We had a fabulous stay here over Christmas. The room was warm and spacious and the beds, while not the best, we're comfortable enough. We skipped breakfast at the hotel (which was fine - tortillas, hard boiled eggs, chile, cereal, juice, oranges) in favor of walking next door to The Pantry, which I read about here. Possibly the best breakfast... More

We pass through Santa Fe every year, (for five years) and always look forward to our stay in the historic Route 66 El Rey Inn. We request the same room every time, because it just feels like home. The staff is wonderful, the breakfast is great, and the outdoor hot tub is the best! I can't imagine a better place... More

We were looking for a cheaper place in Santa Fe that wasn't too far away from downtown. The El Rey was rated very highly online so we gave it a shot. It's located on the other side of the highway, but only a 10-minute drive from downtown. While on a busy street, the layout and landscaping of the inn makes... More

After a bad experience at a five star hotel on the outskirts of Santa Fe, our family reunion needed to move to a new hotel in a hurry. My dad had fond memories of the El Rey Inn from 20 years ago. They found unique and suitable rooms for all four of the couples in our party. The service was... More

Been to Santa Fe several times and this was my favorite place to stay outside of the Plaza. Rooms nice and reasonable price. However, we booked late and received a room right next to the laundry. The staff woke us up each day around 7:00 a.m. Other than that, the breakfast was wonderful, the room nice and the grounds were... More

We have been staying at the El Rey since 1985 and go at least every 2 years. It is the only place we will stay in Santa Fe, as it is a beautiful property and very well-priced. The staff is always friendly and accommodating and the rooms are clean and nicely appointed. I can't think of one complaint I have... More
