We stayed here as we were traveling with friends and just trying to go with the flow. The check in was fine, nice young man - answered all our questions. The room was not nice, everything is completely outdated and down right gross. The bathroom, I believe, is original - very old. I didn't even like to shower here. Luckily... More

We stayed at this hotel before it is a great location next to Lorado Chapel, the Square, the art district, it's clean even if it needed some upgrades and the staff is really helpful. We were always happy with it until our last visit. I took the children to the pool and there was a party going on which seemed... More

Just finished my stay at Garrett's and I must say - It fit the bill perfectly. I travel at least 2-3x per month for work/pleasure and I mostly stay at nice to really nice hotels. Yes, Garrett's is old and a little threadworn (old outside hallway carpets, little broken things, bumps and scrapes to exterior - interior) However: bathroom was... More

If one travels to sante fe you know the hotels on the square are pricey but very nice, however this one even though not on the square but walking distance to it under delivers in room decor . You a want room that feels cozy and sante fe style. The bathroom tile is old but quaint . None of the... More

This is the third year that my wife and I have stayed here. They've been approved to do needed renovations and I hope the charm of the place is not lost. As others have said, the motel is a bit tatty but it is clean, close to the Plaza, and has VERY reasonable rates and parking fee. Our bathroom was... More

It is older and a little run down, but we had no problems. We live near by and stay in Santa Fe occasionally so that we don't have to worry about a DUI. It is an easy walk to the downtown plaza area. For the price you can't beat it in the plaza area. I wish their bar was open,... More

To start with the positives, the hotel is in an excellent location. You can walk to everything in Santa Fe from it. The price was at least $100 less per night than the nicer hotels close by, which adds up after a few nights. The parking was also a deal compared to the other downtown hotels I priced - $8... More

Dear hmk24, We really appreciate the fact that you saw the great value that is the Garrett's Desert Inn! We do have the perfect location, just 2 blocks from the Plaza and , as you say, $100 lower than other nearby hotels. I was also happy to hear that while you did have a problem with a leaky toilet, that... More

This hotel has a desperate need for some attention! Improvements in cleanliness are essential and it needs a complete update (carpet, furnishings, etc.) The room smelled of smoke, carpet was stained, bedspread, shams, and bathroom were dirty!!! I checked out after 5 minutes of my arrival. It was unfortunate that this occurred at 10 pm, because it was very difficult... More

I live in Santa Fe and often have out of town guests stay here. I also hold day long conferences here. The location is amazing...the facilities are more than adequate...clean and sufficiently well maintained. This is not a 'romantic hideaway' by any stretch but it IS a great value for this town which can be very expensive. Great swimming pool...wonderful... More

If you just need a place to sleep and clean up, this place will work. You are definitely within walking distance to the plaza. No breakfast but room has coffee. Internet is slow and sometimes not at all. If you need to use the lobby computer, there is a $7 per 15 minute fee and $1 per page printing fee.... More
