There are two bedrooms and a large living room in this lovely bed and breakfast surrounded by trees and bald eagles. The rooms are comfortable, with paintings by local artists on the walls. Breakfast is fruit and yogurt and granola, with juice and excellent local coffee that the owner brews for you before you awake. The owner is delightful--has a fascinating history and will point you in the direction of good restaurants and coffeehouses and landmarks. She offers a large selection of DVDs and videotapes, as well as a basket of paperbacks and numerous guidebooks and copies of Alaska Magazine.
It's to be noted that this B&B is at least a two-mile walk from downtown Sitka, and longer to the Alaska Raptor Center and surrounding park. There are no bicycles, so consider renting them downtown during your stay, or renting a car. This will allow you to get out to the wilderness areas on either side of town, including the Theobroma Chocolate Factory.
