Wonderful place to stay. I stayed here with some friends for two nights mid-November and we had a great time. A good location to see Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and other sights. Tom's a great host and cook and The star gazing is unbelievable. Really the best part of the stay. I’ve never seen a sky like that. We all... more

I've stayed at Shooting Star Inn about 12 nights so far this year. I can't say enough good things about it. Its among the best B&Bs I've ever stayed at, and on top of that it has beautiful dark skies and nice telescopes. Its quickly becoming my Arizona home away from home. Tom Taylor is the owner, builder, inn keeper,... more

We stayed for one night and wished it could have been longer. The room was clean and comfortable, the dinner and breakfast were delicious, our host, Tom, played guitar and sang after dinner, and then we enjoyed an amazing star-gazing experience with Tom's expert guidance. I would happily return and refer others to this special place. more

We stayed at "A Shooting Star Inn" for one night on October 22, 2009 and we all loved everything about it. There were 4 of us, myself and my husband and another couple (good friends that we were traveling with). We had been at the Grand Canyon the night before and this was a great location for our last night... more

Let's start by saying that Tom offers a wonderful service and we felt he worked very hard to make our stay very memorable. To my knowledge, he built this house 9 years ago and took almost 5 years to build! His passions are astronomy, photography and music and started his B&B to share his passions. It's seems that some of... more

We really wanted to stay here but enquired numerous times (via email) only to be told that despite the website displaying full availability he had decided to close for the period of time we wished to stay. Of course that is fine, I understand that hardworking inn owners deserve holidays too, but it was the tone of the email which... more

My recent trip to Arizona included four nights at the Shooting Star Inn Bed and Breakfast outside of Flagstaff at an elevation of 8000 feet. The Inn is a charming place run by Tom Taylor, photographer, musician, cook, and accomplished astronomer (previously at Kit Peak). Tom is the epitome of graciousness as a host; friendly, accommodating, unassuming … a good... more

My wife and I attempted to book a night or two at The Shooting Star Inn for our 2nd wedding anniversary. The web site showed that rooms were available for the nights we wanted to go (we were trying to book 2 months before the anniversary). My wife emailed the owner asking a few questions and never received a reply.... more

What you get is basically a room in somebody's house. The location, about 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, is on a plain in the mountains. There is nobody very close by, so on a clear night you can go outside and see more stars then you can possilbly imagine. The owner, Tom, was very cordial and enthusiastic to show many... more

A Shooting Star Inn is not for everyone. Don't expect the usual B&B treatment (i.e. chocolate chip cookies & tea @ 4pm). Think of it more as a visit to a good friend's house! If you think you might like a wonderful house/inn in a great field surrounded by beautiful mountains (maybe you'll see an elk!), a scrumptous meal (or... more
