This was our first time at the Grand Central Hotel. From the exterior, it is a really attractive older brick building. The interior has a lot of ambience. And, although the room we stayed in was an OK room, at $180/night for two people it was definitely over-priced. We had gone to Cottonwood Falls with the idea of getting up... More

I have been to this place in its better days...it's obviously not the same anymore. Went during the Flint Hills Rodeo. Was expecting a lot more people...instead just some ole cowboy barflies!!!!! Did not have dinner.. (ate at rodeo)The room wall had mold growing on it...they addressed the concerns about the mold with spray bleach, ( I think the mold... More

The Grand Central is a decent hotel, but not worth $160-190 a night for a room for 2 people. The room was large and attractive, but nothing unusually nice. There is no hotel registrion desk, you are checked in and out by people working in the restaurant. There is no one available and things like ice are unavailable after 10PM.... More

This historical hotel is beautifully and comfortably renovated. Eventhough it was 106^F outside -- not kidding! -- the interior was comfortable. We spent two nights and ate in the hotel's restuarant both nights. The food -- steaks and similar items -- was excellent. Only a few miles from the National Tall Grass Prairie, which we visited, and the scenic Flint... More

Spacious room with comfortable bed. Complimentary breakfast included large plate of fresh fruit, juice, coffee, cereal, egg frittata, and toast or pastry. We ate breakfast in a pleasant courtyard adjacent to the hotel. Friendly and courteous staff. Kitchen prepared delicious chicken salad sandwiches as a box lunch for our day hike into the Flint Hills. The hotel manager provided us... More

I only saw one other choice that was even open.... However, the room I had was extremely nice, big, clean, comfortable - fireplace equipped. No mention of the small bar area or if even adult beverages were served - they are and fully equipped. Steak was great - other fare a little overcooked to my liking. Very pleasant experience.

We traveled there to eat for the first time with my family. What a nostolgic place. Service and the Steaks were out of this world. Great atmosphere! Yes it is a place to take your wallet as dinner is around 25 person or a little more, but it is worth every penny. We return again for sure love it!

Disappointing on every level, my “Sterling Steak” was average and not worth the price, my wife’s special Saturday night Prime Rib was an inedible portion of fat and gristle with very little meat, all made worse by the wait staff’s unprofessionalism and management’s apparent indifference. After a few minutes trying to make the most of our Prime Rib, my wife... More

Cottonwood Falls is a small quiet town in the Flint Hills of Kasas. The Grand Central Hotel is a really nice hotel. Although arriving early we were able to check in and were given a cup of deceent coffee, something you don't get very often in the States! The highlight of this hotel is the food. Although it may seem... More
