This is the most beautiful, well-run hotel in the most stunning location. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and responded promptly and politely to every request. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite which was enormous and beautifully furnished. We thoroughly enjoyed using the steam show as well as soaking in the claw foot bath that stood in a corner of... more

We had dinner here, a Thursday evening in August. The food was simply ordinary...two good scallops as appetizer, pan-seared nicely, but on a brownish mess tasting mainly of balsamic vinegar. The beef tenderloin main dish also OK, cooked med rare as requested, but again the sauce was something to be avoided. The ice cream w/hot fudge dessert should have been... more

Just returned from celebrating a 60th birthday at the Inn at Castle Hill. Stayed in Mrs. Agassiz's room (6) on a special one-night plan that included afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast. Although fogged in during our stay (and, unfortunately, the foghorn sounded all night long), we had a wonderful, special time. Our fireplaced room was spacious (my only complaint was... more

The Castle Hill is absolutely beautiful. It was recomended to us to have a cocktail here before dinner to watch the sunset. They have a great outdoor bar and huge lawn with adrionak chairs sprinkled throughout to view the sunset. It was very romantic - even though it was foggy and not really a great view of the sunset (only... more

I was fortunate enough to stay at Castle Hill for fives days with friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was a gift from my husband and I could have gone anywhere in the world. It was perfect and the staff was amazing. I would live at Castle Hill if at all possible! more

We love this place. The staff is great, the views are gorgeous, food is superb. It's a splurge for us, but it is our "go to" vacation hotel. more

The wife and I spent 2 nights at Castle Hill for our anniversary. We stayed in Beach Cottage 22- the setting is outstanding. We got there and simply sat and listened to the sound of the waves crashing. Very soothing. Food is great as you would expect. Staff is very kind and attentive. Anyone who's fortunate enough to spend time... more

Newport is basically our second home. We have been to Castle Hill for drinks and dining many times but the last time, the snooty staff really bothered us. We bought drinks but were not allowed to sit at the bar because of some lame reason they gave us. So we stood for several minutes before sitting on the adirondeck chairs... more

The place is indeed beautiful. Food is decent but not memorable. Stayed in a cottage overlooking the sea. Quality furnishings and comfortable bed. However, Castle Hill is enormously overpriced. Most rooms or cottages run from $400.00 to 1,300.00 per night. The wealthy may find Castle Hill a home away from home-- but the average punter is priced out of existence. more
