We recently returned from a weekend away by ourselves to celebrate our anniversary. We thought it would be worth the splurge on a beautiful inn on the cliffwalk. We were very wrong. With tax included, the Atlantic Suite cost almost $600.00 a night. When will I learn that just because it is expensive, does not mean it is the best.... more

My wife and I stayed in one of the upper end cottages. Location: Very good; accessible to cliff walk and beautiful mansions Staff: Average; not too welcoming but warmed up Food: Mediocre; cold eggs at one breakfast, repetitive and boring afternoon teas Price: About right for what we got Verdict: Would we stay her again? NO! more

We stayed in the Governor's Suite - I think we paid around $500+ a night. It was nice but at that price, not all that it could be. The whirlpool for 2 is large and clean, but the birdcage shower is....well, kind of gross. The location is well situated as a staging point to see the mansions or go for... more

My DH and I started our RI trip with a night at the Cliffside. We had booked this B&B mainly for its location. It is a two block walk to the Cliff Walk and a 5 minute drive to Thames Street. We opted to stay in the Library Room. The hotel is a well maintained old Victorian home with more... more

Indifferent about this place. We stayed in the Garden Suite with the upstairs bedroom/downstairs bathroom. Dangerous stairway, narrow and shakey spiral. Not good. The air conditioning and hair dryer cannot be run at the same time, learned that the hard way.. generally nervous about the wiring in the place The service was medicore at best.... breakfast was ok, but nothing... more

My finacee and I stayed at the Cliffside Inn for two nights in the beginning of Nov. for a birthday getaway. The price was right - check out their off-season specials on their website - [--] THE ROOM: We were happy overall with our stay in the Sun Room - the room itself was a nice size for the two... more

We stayed at the Cliffside Inn due to recommendations. We loved it. We had originally booked the "library" as our room. When we arrived we were upgraded to the "Blue Room" upstairs. We had a very nice, comfortable room. It was nice and sunny and welcoming. We found the staff to be tops! They serve coffee and juice at the... more

During our stay this fall (2007) in New England, this guest house was the most expensive and the most dissapointing. Maybe the fact that the Inn Keeper is not present himself has something to do with it, I'm not sure. It has the look of a faded bordello! All very much in need of tlc. We had to move bedrooms... more

Stayed in "The Attic", not a spacious as it seemed on the website, but completely acceptable. They leave chocolates on your pillow at the turndown service, but they were just Ok, bottles of water are also supplied in the room. Self Portraits of Beatrice Turner are all around, which i agreed with one other guest that they were kind of... more
