I was not happy with my room and I indicated this to the inn personnel. It is in need of an update with regard to the mattress(felt the springs so the cushion was getting worned-mattress is on its last leg), a drippy toilet that made a drip all night, window does not open with ease(I see paint chippings around the... more

I decided last minute to book an overnight stay in Newport for my boyfriend and myself. I had always wanted to stay at one of the 3 more upscale Inn's: Adele Turner, Abigail Stoneman or Cliffside Inn. We ended up staying at the Adele Turner in the Tycoon Suite. Upon arrival we were greeted by the Inns' keeper who was... more

We wanted a Newport B&B, and I had three on the list. We chose Adele Turner, based on the website and pictures, but not knowing the Newport area we weren't sure of the location in relation to other things. I was nervous about it, based on some of the low ratings I read on this site, but it was definitely... more

We stayed in the Great Gatsby room - bed was comfortable, jacuzzi tub after a long day of walking was just the right touch! The staff were polite and attentive. For an inn the place had a clean fresh smell not a musty smell like most B&B's have. The place is located within walking distance to the wharf / restaurant... more

My husband and I were there for 2 nights (December 22nd-24th) and 3 days only several weeks ago. I am not sure what these people with negative comments expected : golden bed with pearl accents? This inn is a historic inn, hence the word! What would happen if they updated everything? Let me say " no more of that antique/victorian... more

After reading the reviews, I was really worried - I picked the Adele Turner because I thought the website was great and I was lured in by the "wine tasting" and "afternoon tea" promises. Perhaps the other reviewers were expecting too much or perhaps they paid a lot more for their stay (we paid $350 for a two-night stay)...but I... more

I booked one night at the Adele Turner Inn for my wedding anniversary. Although I read all of the negative comments, I had a gift certificate that covered all but $8.35 of the bill. I called and booked directly with a young man at the inn. I stated several times that it was a special anniversary but he did not... more

My wife and I are avid B&B fans and always seek out interesting and historic buildings when we travel. We bought into this one hype hook line and sinker based on their website and and the “Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America” listing. As previously mentioned by others, the inn does not live up to its website hype. Yes,... more

The inn does not live up to its website hype. While the property is interesting and historic, the inn itself is tired and in dire need of a facelift. The staff is friendly and tries to please, but this does not seem to be an owner operated inn, so that personal touch is missing. We too experienced the "out of... more

I have not stayed here -- my review is based on my attempt to stay there and trying to obtain correct information from the Inn and website. I will not stay here based on the deceptive experience I had with their website and their email. Their website states that the rooms start at $125. When I went into "booking" to... more
