It's a little pricy but it's not out of the norm for Newport, RI. The room was a good size with a comfortable bed and a nice bathrrom. I could be wrong but the bathroom may have been renovated in the last few years since the hardware and fixtures didn't look dated or worn. The staff was very friendly and... more

We recently stayed at the Jailhouse for 3 days 2 nights. The Inn was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We purchased a package, which included a dinner, tickets to mansions and wine and visit to a winery. Since my hubby and I don’t drink, I asked if they could modify the package for us, which they did,... more

My husband and I rented a room for Sat and Sun nights over Memorial Day weekend...and had a very nice time. The staff was friendly, and the hotel had everything we needed (no gym, spa, pool, or convenience store, but this who needs that - a block from Thames Street!) The room had comfortable linens/pillows, was clean, and got great... more

I really loved the Jailhouse Inn! The theme is cute, but not over done. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. I really liked the depth of the windows. It really gave the room such an elegant feel. The pillows are plentiful and really fluffy. The bed was comfortable. We got a room on the first floor near the reception... more

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Jailhouse Inn for two weeknights in November. We stayed in the cheapest room they had ($89 p/t weeknight/ $169 p/t weekend) and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. The only drawback was that it was located on the first floor, near the reception desk, and the walls were somewhat thin.... more

If you want a clean room, a great location, and friendly service when you are visiting Newport, the JailHouse Inn is perfect. The rooms are spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a free afternoon tea, which is very nice, and the free continental breakfast has something for everyone. It has a small town feel, and the... more

a very nice small hotel in Newport. I recommand it because the beds are very good and the breakfast is just delicious: bagels, muffins, cereals.... You also get a snack during the afternoon. The decoration is nice and at the front desk you can still see some bars! Unfortunately there's no elevator ! more

This was a very cute hotel in a good location, within walking distance to Bannisters Wharf and lots of restaurants and shops. It isn't a typical bed and breakfast, decor is more like a hotel, but it was very clean and modern, breakfast wasn't extravagant but it was just what was needed, some muffins, bagels, toasts, hard boiled eggs and... more

My husband and I stayed one night at the Jailhouse Inn. It was a clean hotel and the inn keeper was friendly and attentive, but it was your basic hotel room. We unfortunately were stuck with 2 double beds (we couldn't choose when we booked and it was all that was left). There is no elevator so we had to... more

The Jailhouse Inn was in a great location and perfect if you are the type to walk everywhere. The people at the inn were friendly, and it was pleasant to sit on the front porch and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The rooms were plain, and the furniture was nothing special despite their claim that it had... more
