I would have given the Almondy Inn 5 stars, but the only issue was that it's so close to Thames street and all the bars that we could hear the live music in our room! Although many guests would enjoy that entertainment, at the end of a long night my fiance and I wanted peace and quiet. Other than that,... more

We had a very pleasant stay at The Almondy B&B. The location was perfect; you cannot get any closer to the downtown area! We were able to check in, park our car and then walk everywhere for our whole stay. The B&B is beautiful; we started our stay in the Plantation room which had an extremely comfortable bed and a... more

My husband and I usually stay at the Samuel Durfee House in Newport, but to our dismay, they were completely booked during the second weekend of November. A few of our friends had stayed at the Almondy Inn during our wedding in Newport in 2007 and they all said they enjoyed their stay there. So we decided to give it... more

My wife and I stayed here in August and had a very nice time, the noisy nightclub mentioned in some of the previous reviews must have had some sound proofing put in because we didn't hear it at all. Mind you I do normally sleep with earplugs in.... The 5 p.m. wine and cheese sessions with the hosts were an... more

Everything about this Inn is exceptional; from the first moment you get your keys to the next day when you enjoy a first rate gourmet breakfast! I have never met such a lovely Inn-keeper who made us feel welcome and exceded every expectation. The Inn is well kept, clean and beautifully detailed with hand picked antiques the owners have collected... more

Stayed in the Plantation Room last week. Park the car as everything is in walking distance of the B&B, shopping, mansions and restaurants. You will need to walk after the eating breakfasts that is served from 8.30a.m. to 10.00a.m. Quiche, french toast, baked eggs with bacon. Then at 5.00p.m. to 6.00p.m. white and red wine, cheese and crackers. Being from... more

My husband and I stayed in the Blue Bay room and it was absolutely lovely. The inn itself is in a prime location just a few steps from the marina and the water, and a short walk from shuttle stops (good if you don't have a car). Our room was large and comfortable, with a sitting area by the window... more

We had a perfect stay in this lovely Inn, perfectly located in the center of Newport. The owners were friendly and helpful and the stay couldn't have been more perfect. I usually stay in large city hotels so wasn't sure what to expect from a B and B but this was delightful! more

Aaaaahhhhh... true European hospitality in Newport! The innkeeper, Evelyn, was a fantastic hostess during our 2-night stay recently. The absolutely delicious breakfasts (all Evelyn's original recipes) and the 5pm cheese-and-wine were promptly served every day as she tended to all of our needs and questions. The place looks newly-renovated and our room was immaculate. The price is very reasonable for... more

The Almondy Inn is one of the nicest guest houses that I and my partner have stayed at-and we are very spoiled. We were here for only one night but we will be back. The guesthouse fits wonderfully into the whole Newport environment of good restaurants and pleasant people. Our host made us feel right at home from the first... more
