Breakfast was practically non-existent at this so-called "B&B". Just a couple of stale bagels and muffins. Not even cereal! Getting a cup of coffee was a ridiculous adventure. Then, one afternoon as my wife and I were taking a nap, we caught the two housekeepers thumbing through my wallet which I had left on the end table by the entry... more

Glorified motel dubbed as "high-end" but did not deliver. No amenities, not even toiletries or an ironing board. Even the magazine provided was from 2007! Not recommended. more

We were looking forward to our stay at the Pearls for our anniversary weekend. I had booked the B&B through Expedia about a month in advance and had paid for the room. Upon arrival at the Pearls we found the lobby empty so we left a note with our contact info and decided to grab a bite. We got a... more

I am exceptionally well traveled - been to all 7 continents, stayed in castles and been camping. Ray and Lisa have put together a wonderful place, beautifully decorated, and with impeccable service. Their warmth, attention to detail, and hospitality are authentic and refreshing in the world of hotels. The location is just a few blocks from town - away from... more

The Pearls is a very cool / hip / funky / cozy hotel with a fantastic location, and if that is worth a premium price to you, you'll love it. Because I couldn't find any online reservation system for the hotel when I was booking, I called the hotel directly along with some other B & B's I was contacting.... more

Went to Pearls last year during a visit to Newport with my fiance. Overall, we had a good experience and Pearls seems to be a pretty solid choice for most people. We stayed in a "Scottish" themed room in the main building and we found the accomodations to only be "adequate" given the price paid. The room we stayed was... more

On last minute notice I attempted to book a weekend reservation in the off season of November for Newport RI and discovered that the area was entirely booked up every weekend! Just before I was going to give up I decided to surf the Internet one more time for a very nice hotel and I came upon The Pearls. We... more

My husband and I stayed at Pearls at 41 Pelham Street for a wedding in August. I made the reservation in January, and when I called to double check on the booking (after they had charged my credit card in full) I learned that my reservation did not exist-and I had to re-reserve the room all over again. Thankfully they... more

The Pearls is actually 5 lovely restored homes in downtown Newport, all about two blocks from the wharf and the shopping and dining areas. We were fortunate to have Lisa, the owner, personally suggest the perfect suite for our 4-day getaway overlooking the Inn's gardens. The furnishings were not overly fussy or uptight antique but elegant and comfortable. The linens... more
