No other B&B can out charm, class, or cook the Armistead Cottage. My wife and I have claimed the cottage "Our Place" and have returned four times. The victorian era cottage is just minutes from Bellevue Avenue which makes traveling easy. On a warm day, you can walk to some of the street's historic mansions. Each room has it's own... more

My husband & I along with two other couples stayed at the Armistead B&B the weekend of Feb. 16, we had a great time and enjoyed both the hospitality of both Romana and Charles; they were very intertaining, we enjoyed their stories, their house is so comfortable. We felt we knew them for a long time. The breakfast's were very... more

My boyfriend and I were looking to spend New Year's Eve outside of Manhattan and remember Newport being quite beautiful from an earlier trip. All we really wanted was a cute B&B with a fireplace, Armistead Cottage gave us that along with an incredibly gracious hostess (Ramona) and amazing food (her breakfast offerings were very good). I especially loved that... more

Wanting to celebrate 1st Night in Newport, we reviewed several B&B's. We couldn't have made a better choice than the Armistead Cottage. Owners Romana & Charles have captured the essence of what makes for a relaxing, interesting (check-out the carrot museum) & refreshing stay. We loved our room- adorned with antiques, fireplace, & Victorian decor. Even a heated towel-rack (... more

This was, hands down, the best bed and breakfast I've been to. Everything was just as I'd want it. Our hosts, Romana and Charles, were very friendly and extremely informative about the local attractions, restaraunts and activities. The breakfasts were superbly prepared and refreshigly different. Overall I really liked the fact that, due to the smaller size of Armistead, I... more

Nov. 6-9, 2007 Charlie and Anita, New Jersey We were so lucky to have chosen the Armistead Cottage from the dozens of B & Bs, inns, and hotels in Newport. Our room was cozy, charming, and immaculate--as was the entire cottage. The three course breakfasts were phenomenal! Not only is Romana a wonderful chef, but she's a fun, easy-going, and... more

This was our first stay at a B&B. My husband and I had avoided B&B’s due to some anxiousness regarding sharing a home with other guests and the host/hostess. Ramana, our hostess, was so comfortable in her skin, that there was never a single moment of awkwardness. Our experience was totally favorable, creating a very high standard by which to... more

What a delightful surprise! While I have always enjoyed a good B&B, my boyfriend was very hesitant about staying here. We had a great time exploring the city of Newport. We were within walking distance to most parts of town and a very short drive to all other areas of interest. The furnishings are gorgeous, the owners were fun and... more

Stayed here for $138.00 a night for 2 nights in September. You certainly can't get that rate on any hotel right in Newport, so that's a good reason to stay here in itself. This is my second stay in a B&B. The best way to describe the owner, Romana, is talkative & quirky. I barely met her Husband Charles or... more
