This lovely B&B is in the PERFECT location for anyone visiting Newport! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were superb and the afternoon tea and delicious goodies were worth coming back to each afternoon. Highly recommend staying here!

Will and his staff hosted a group of 20 for a long weekend, and it could not have been better. The staff was gracious, warm, accommodating, and very professional. The B&B is centrally located in Newport, so most everything of interest is within easy walking distance. The food - both breakfast and the afternoon spread - is out of this... More

We did not know anyone who had stayed here before so we were a little nervous but it was terriffic. We arrived in time for tea where there was a nice variety of baked goods plus a few appetizers. We stayed in garden room 1 which is one of the less expensive rooms. It was immaculate and the bedding was extremely... More

Pat, It is always lovely to have first time guests stay at the Inn, I am thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us in Gardenside Room One. Even though it is one of our smaller rooms I love the charm of the original house - you don't get original floors and moldings from 1758 just anywhere! We are gearing... More

This was our fourth visit to the Francis Malbone - this time traveling with good friends to celebrate our anniversaries...We stayed in the Benjamin Mason Suite and Stillhouse Room - both located in the Benjamin Mason House adjacent to the main Inn. As always, the food was superb and staff so accommodating. Will, Anne Maria and entire staff - thank... More

Andrea, The greatest compliment that you give us is coming back to the Inn and bringing your friends with you this year was an added bonus. What a nice way for you all to celebrate your anniversaries. Having both rooms at the Benjamin Mason House is perfect - you basically get your own private home in Newport for the weekend.... More

We went to Newport for a short 4 day getaway. Francis Malbone House exceeded our expectations. Our room was CLEAN and the bed was comfortable! The breakfast was amazing! A seemingly endless buffet, then you order your entree. The two options in entree were both delicious. Then afternoon tea was wonderful! Homemade treats and snacks. So much food I may... More

Right in the heart of Newport this house is a small gem. Comfy rooms. A short walk to the wharfs for food and shopping. Easy distance to the famous mansions and cliff walk. And best of all a really special breakfast. We spent four nights here and just adored it. Can't wait to come back.

We stayed two nights in one of the smaller rooms in the old part of the house. I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough. It was my good fortune to have a reunion in Newport with high school classmates (plus several husbands), and the Francis Malbone was our home base. It was a perfect location....affording privacy when needed, and several comfy rooms large enough for us to hang out and talk well into the evening. It was hospitality plus: beds turned down at night,... More
