My wife and I booked our Kahala reservation several months ago, choosing to leave our paid-for timeshare in Ko Olina two nights early to splurge at this special hotel to celebrate our anniversary and my wife's good health two years out of cancer treatment. Both of us had wonderful memories of vacationing at the Kahala with our families as children,... More

The Kahala is a top-notch property and although the reports of the current construction are correct, we found that they try to minimize the negative aspects as much as possible. We really like the secluded location at the end of Kahala Rd. -- we are not into the noise and congestion of Waikiki. The breakfast buffet is delightful, good selection... More

Dolphins- Absolutely loved the dolphins and the sea turtle pool. The dolphin experience is expensive but money well spent if that is your kind of thing. I loved learning about them, touching, and feeding them. The dolphin trainers were knowledgeable and very friendly. The animals seemed well cared for and happy. For me, watching the dolphins was a major plus... More

Our family has been going to this hotel for over 30 years, and while it is a little beat up, it is a great hotel, and usually a wonderful experience, usually! What we were treated to is days of intense jack hammering and construction that could be heard all over the property, including in your room. This was done 9am... More

We booked through Expedia, got a great deal, were pleasantly surprised at the luxuriousness and quality of the Kahala. Rooms were lovely, private beach is lovely, service is extremely attentive and solicitous. Location is well away from the noise and traffic of Waikiki but close enough to Honolulu that all the great restaurants and other attractions are easily accessible by... More

I appreciate receiving your feedback following your recent stay at our resort and was delighted to see that our services and facilities met your expectations. The buffet breakfast served daily is very popular, however, you may decide to select from the ala carte menu during your next stay with us. Thank you again for sharing your comments. My staff and... We were originally due to stay here for a week - so glad we didn't - changed hotels (to the Four Seasons on Maui - luxury!) after 3 nights we had to stay without losing our deposit. Our room - it was tired and had seen better days. TV was mounted onto a side wall as if an after thought... More

Top luxury hotel in secluded quiet location just a short ride to Honolulu private beach. Wonderful open air breakfast buffet. We stayed here twice it used to be a Mandarin Oriental. It changed management has slipped a little in service and wear but still very high quality. There are nicer resorts on other islands but if you have to stay... More

Heavy construction with all day jackhammering on veranda area weekdays and weekends with no sound barrier. No warning on web site. Heard rumor pool deck and pool itself next. Staff and food good as always but place seemed dingy and stingy; beautiful lobby flower arrangement gone, worn carpets with stains, stained lanai furniture with holes. Also pool heater not working... Aloha Seminar32678, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at The Kahala Hotel & Resort. While we were happy to hear you had a positive experience with our staff and dining outlets, it is with deep regret to hear your negative experience during the beautification of The Veranda. Rest assured, while we have recently upgraded the... More

This hotel is in the perfect location. Picturesque. We watched the sunrise while eating breakfast & it was spectacular. The decor & service were fantastic. The bed was comfortable & uo to date. Very clean. I give this hotel 4.5 stars. Only disappointment was the recommendation from the concierge for dinner off property. Wasn't worth the trip. More

We have been coming here for years and have always thought that the Kahala set the bar for outstanding customer service. I dont know if it was new management or what, but the quality and service have really gone down hill. My wife and I came over for an 8 day visit and ended up changing hotels because we were... More
