My husband and I checked in here as a short stopover between our flight from the Big Island and international flight home. We'd stayed at another hotel in Waikiki earlier in our trip, but they were full up on the night in question so we figured that as it was only going to be one night this place would be fine.
Boy, were we wrong!
From the moment we arrived in their dank and musty foyer, we were made to feel like we were imposing on the surly staff. After waiting for fifteen minutes whilst the reception people chatted amongst themselves, we were given keys to a room on a smoking floor (requested non-smoking). We lined up for those "scary" elevators that other reviewers have pointed up, and eventually (after much creaking and groaning from the lifts, and a trip down a dark, dirty hallway) arrived at our ninth floor hotel room.
We opened the door and initially thought there must've been some mistake. Had the room been cleaned? A call to...
