I went to Hawaiiana Hotel on June 23rd 2009 this was my first trip to Hawaii. The rates for this hotel are extremely cheap that being said cant really expect much. The rooms are cement block and it just looks deppresing. The pools are not really "clean" either they have a lot of bugs and plants in them. Also the... more

The location is good except that the construction site next door starts work at 7am. Because one wall of the room is a screen (good for natural ventilation, bad for soundproofing) there is no escaping the noise. We felt like the front desk service was patronizing and not very welcoming. The rooms were average and may have been nice 20... more

I have been coming to the Hawaiiana for the past 20 years. My parents even longer. It has not changed since my first visit, which is what keeps us coming back. Upon entering the Hawaiiana you are in your own amazing tropical world, unaware that the hussle and bussle of the main street is less then a block away. The... more

I just returned from my second stay at the Hawaiiana. Christy and I were thrilled with the service and attention given us by Lisa and Christiana and their staff. It's a little jewel hidden beneath the chrome and concrete of Waikiki. Close to everything, but in it's own secluded beautiful little world. We'll certainly return. more

I find it mildly ridiculous that when you check into a hotel that you are asked for your bosses name and phone number, but the military does have a bad reputation so I obliged. Unfortunately for me I found out why, after my friends (who also had a room in the hotel) knocked two outside lawn chairs into the pool... more

My parents and my inlaws had both been regulars at the Hawaiiana and recommended it highly. After a long long flight, when we arrived at the Hawaiiana, I was worn out and looking at the room, I quite honestly wondered what we had gotten ourselves into. The room was typically 50's motel-like with cinderblock walls and spartan appearance. It didn't... more

First, I must say the hotel is in a very good location. It is only a block off Waikiki Beach and the Halekulani hotel. Second, the "grounds" of the hotel are kept very nice and inviting - the hotel staff were very polite and accommodating -no problems there. The hotel room was $159 per night, including tax, so we knew... more

The Hawaiiana Hotel is the heart of Waikiki - not just because it's a great location, but essentially because the management and staff have a big heart and make you feel so welcome for your entire stay. This hotel has the ambience of a bygone era - when Waikiki hotels were the height of palm trees and everyone knew your... more
