For my first time in Hawaii, I found our room very nice. I got used to the height of our room on the street side by having breakfast on the balcony in the mornings and watching the city come alive with the sunrise. We live on Kauai but anytime we need to travel to Oahu for pleasure or business we always stay at the Waikiki Marina Resort. The staff are awesome, and the accomodations are very clean and comfortable. Staff are very attentive to your needs. We rented a condo from a private party. The room was good size and had a dividing slider wall. Due to the shape of the building, there are many different views you could have, i.e. water, marina, street, opposite building. We lucked out with a great direct view of the Hilton Lagoon and ocean. I have traveled to Oahu many times and this is the first place I would stay again. The Ilikai is a perfect place to stay. It's close enough to everything in Waikiki, Ala Moana, the beach and marina yet far enough away from the craziness of Waikiki. The hotel rooms were very clean, new furnishings, good price. The downside - valet parking only - $18/day + tips, the tennis courts are (still) not repaired, located at the marina not the beach. more
