my husband and i had to go to oahu for the weekend......buisness and pleasure. we booked this hotel for the price, but man, what a mixed suprise. it seemed so out dated, that watching to visitors channel it was funny to see the hotels comercial. it just looks really really old. the staff at the front desk were really really... more

I stayed at this hotel for six nights in January 09 and it was overall a pleasant experience. The rooms and hotel were both old and showing their age, but the location and price just can't be beat. It's located two short blocks from waikiki beach and across the street from the Honolulu Zoo. I was lucky enough to get... more

If you expect your bed turned down every night with mints on your pillow, keep searching. Many of the rooms in this hotel are under rennovation and you may get one which hasn't had its facelift. If you are looking for an affordable, safe, clean place to sleep, this is the place for you. With the location 1 block from... more

I have booked hotels thru PriceLine twice for Waikiki and 'was awarded' this hotel and another one right next door to it another time. Both times I got the rooms for under $60 and both hotels gave an upgrade to the room upon arrival. The location is great. The carpet is scary. more

The bell men were very nice, hospitable, and quick to help. "Shane" wouldn't take a tip from me when I entrusted him w/ my mother's ashes (my family and I were there to have them scattered off of Waikiki) which was the reason for my stay 2 day stay. I now live in California, but I was born and raised... more

If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you, but this is the place if you are looking to be in Hawaii in the heart of all the action & save some $$$. Place definetly needs to be updated, elevators are terrible, staff in restaurant not friendly, nor is the food very good, more

It was my first time in Oahu but i had travelled with a friend who had been here for 6x, so he knows the island pretty well. The location is gorgeous its at the end of the bustling crowded Waikiki. We stayed in rm 1619 every morning i wake up to the beautiful Diamond Head and run around it too.... more

First off, if luxury is what you are looking for, then look elsewhere. This hotel is outdated, and understaffed. The carpet in the hallways are not too clean and the elevators are painfully slow. The rooms were clean though and it was a decent place to rest at night despite the screams of monkeys from the zoo across the street.... more

I read the reviews before booking the Queen. I was right. I am constantly amazed that people are so cheap that they will pay very little for a hotel room and then act shocked that it is not the Hilton. Yes the place is old, yes the carpet is worn, the walls need painting and the elevators are slow. But... more

1 elevator wasn't working. A couple of people got stuck between floors. The other elevator was really scary, made noises and swung back & forth. The staff was very unhelpful. We only had a window, no balcony, couldn't open the curtains without other people looking in on us. The carpet in the restaurant is ghastly, as was the food. Was... more
