As someone who is from Hawaii I can honestly say this was one of the better hotels I've stayed at in Waikiki. We stayed at the Moana for a weekend "staycation" and had an amazing time. The location is absolutely perfect; walking distance to everything in Waikiki. We brought a car but never needed it because we walked everywhere we... more

We stayed at the Westin Moana Surfrider from June 28 to July 1st, just 3 nights, but we could have stayed there a month. There is absolutely nothing wrong to say about this property. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out, it was a perfect stay. When you check in, you are greeted by a... more

Called the hotel a week before arrival to advise I would be arriving early and would appreciate early check in, if possible. On arrival was advised room would not be ready until 3pm (why did I bother?). Was offered different room (Banyan Classic) for early check-in however on viewing it was very small, no balcony, no bathtub, small window overlooking... more

The Moana Surfrider is a wonderful resort without question. The location right on the shores of Waikiki and across from the International Market make it a fun place to stay. The service was quite good and the stay enjoyable but it wasn't quite worth the splurge. There are so many hotels in this location, I would read reviews and decide... more

This hotel meets and exceeds all of our expectations. The staff is friendly and prompt. Upon check-in, you are greeted with cool lemonade, a lei and a moist towelette, a nice treat after the long journey from the mainland. Sometimes its the little things that matter most. The rooms, adjoining, in the Tower Wing are spacious, clean and lovely. We... more

Last stayed here 3 years ago while it was still a Sheraton. As a Starwood Gold member, was upgraded to a Diamond Head view on an upper floor of the Tower wing - magnificent view and magnificent room. 3 years later, and how the mighty have fallen. I had reserved two rooms and was "upgraded" at checkin to partial oceanview... more

Wonderful hotel in central Waikiki location, close to everything. Direct beachfront access. Especially loved the lobby and the main, historic Banyan wing. We were upgraded to rooms facing the beach in the Diamond Wing. The view was breathtaking and we'd keep the windows open at night and the sound of the waves would lull us to sleep. We also took... more

We stayed here on part of our honeymoon for a bit of luxury. I loved the historic aspect of the hotel and they have a little area above the stairs in the entry that contains photos etc. They have rocking chairs all along the front veranda which were great - we could just sit in them and watch the world... more

I selected this hotel because I love historic hotels that have been upgraded with modern amenities and we were not disappointed. The Moana Surfrider lived up to Westin standards but had the uniqueness of an old-fashioned hotel rather than a cookie-cutter modern one, especially in the lobby areas. Because we needed a spacious suite, our room was in the modern... more
