My boyfriend and I were staying down the street at the Royal Hawaiian, an ended up sitting down by the bar for lunch. We sat right next to the beach, great views and lots of sunshine. Live music played in the background as we sipped champagne and ate lunch. Great cocktails, food and service. Some of the best edamame I've... More

We have stayed at the Surfrider many times (since it was a Sheraton before it took on the Westin brand and raised the prices). We have always booked a deluxe ocean-front room in the Diamond Wing. It is an 8 story building, built in about the 1960s. What we like about the room we have booked so often is that... More

Okay, here's the deal.....my husband and I just returned from spending 5 nights at the Moana. It has a very charming atmosphere, with porch rockers, etc. We used Starwood points and would have had one of the awful rooms you will read about in these reviews If we had not upgraded to a tower room. These are rooms in the... More

Do these people really think they can charge these prices for the terrible services and food offered by this place? The food is nauseating. The room service is almost nonexistent. The rooms are noisy with worn out rugs and furniture. At least the facility had the decency to cover the stench of the guest rooms with deodorizer. On the other... More

We stayed at the Moana Surfrider for 3 days while we visited family in Honolulu. I used to be a Starwood Platinum member, but have since switched programs, so made a reservation with no status... We got a "city view" room on the 2nd floor. Wow. The room was nicely appointed, but there were ants in the room. The windows... More

The oldest and arguably the grandest hotel in Hololulu, with Georgian style and sweeping open spaces, porches, and common areas. The staff was superb, and the proximity to beaches, downtown restaurants, Diamondhead, and the zoo are hard to beat. The room (3804) was a suite on the top floor with direct ocean views and a veranda equal is size to... More

On the recommendation of Tropigirl I went and had High Tea on the Verandah at The Moana Surfrider. It was such a lovely afternoon. The setting is beautiful, the service elegant and the food divine. You start with soup, then out comes a tiered cake stand with sandwiches, little cakes and scones, and finally ending with a delicious green tea... More

Moana Surfrider is located in the best spot in Waikiki... it’s literally "on the beach". The hotel is very close to restaurants and the shops. You can easily catch a trolley ($2/trip) outside the hotel to get to the Ala Moana Mall. We had a great room in the Tower Block albeit ocean view includes an interesting side-view into the... More

We arrived at this hotel and we checked in a little after noontime, even though our rooms weren't ready. One room was reserved for my wife and myself and the other room was reserved for my sister. I gave them my cell number and they told me they would call when our room was ready. We stored our luggage and... More

This was our 3rd stay at the Moana in the past 5 years. We stayed in an Ocean view room in the historic wing. Our room was large, and had wonderful views. The hotel has many lovely areas to sit and enjoy the views and the ambiance of Hawaii. Sitting in the banyan courtyard, sipping Mai Tais and listening to... More
