We absolutely loved Anchuca. While planning for our trip to Vicksburg, we could not make our mind up on which B&B to stay. Cedar Grove, Four Corners, Anchuca and the others all looked so great on the internet. The reviews were somewhat concerning for some of the B&Bs. It was a big decision and a lot of money so we... more

As four adults we booked 'Jennie's Room' and 'Ellen's Room' in the Carriage House. We felt somewhat sidelined as the main house and reception were locked up by 7.30 so we were unable to gain access. 'Jennie's Room' is poorly lit and the dressing area has been carelessly decorated, paint on the light switches, fittings etc. The verandah paintwork is... more

My husband and I explored part of the south last November. Our first night was at Anchuca. Our friend said be sure to eat there. Unfortunately, they don't serve dinner on Tuesday night. We had a wonderful stay. The owner clearly loves Vicksburg and enjoyed sharing with us information about the town, its history and his home. We were welcome... more

We recently visited the quaint town of Vicksburg and stayed at the Anchuca Mansion located in historic Vicksburg. We had a cozy cottage room --the room was very nicely appointed in the old South style. The southern breaksfast was just delicious and was very well presented. We ate dinner at the inn which was also delicious. Tom and Chris were... more

We spent a night at Anchuca while making a short visit to Vicksburg. Overall, it was a nice experience. The grounds & the mansion itself are beautiful & charming. Everyone there was so friendly & helpful when it came to planning our day. And everything that they suggested was great. Also loved the 3 kitties that hung around outside in... more

Can't wait to go back for great food and a comfortable bed in lovely surroundings. We stayed in the Carriage house in a room with a fireplace that was clean and well furnished. Our host was gracious and informative and the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. The mansion is located away from the train tracks so noise... more

Stayed two nights at the Mansion. We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms in the Carriage House. The room was beautifully decorated. Bathroom set up with sink in a separate area from toilet and bath tub. Breakfast was excellent. Served with their specialty, cheese grits, that were very tasty (very surprised). Very friendly owners. One of the owners,... more

The name of this beautifully restored and appointed Mansion in the heart of Vicksburg is Anchuca, Choctaw for Happy Home. It could also mean Home with big Hearts. The hosts Tom and Chris completely renewed me after what had been a very difficult week. Tom's knowledge of all things Vicksburg and his genuine concern that everyone feel relaxed and spoiled... more

Being from California I thought all Vicksburg had to offer was the military park. Was I ever wrong! Anchuca is a fantastic Antebellum home right in the heart of everything. The house itself is beautifully restored and appointed, and the location is so convenient. Chris' marvelous cooking kept us coming in to the restaurant and Tom was a font of... more
