We were directed there by the welcome center. After driving through the slums of Vicksburg we found what is leeft of what I am sure was once a great estate. In much much beter days. As we made our way to the entrance we could clearly hear the young lady sitting in the wicker chairs smoking and having an argument... more

(This is the letter I wrote) Last weekend (Oct 25, 2008) a large group of my family and I attended a Golden Anniversary Celebration at your establishment. Many things were wonderful and I compliment you. Other things really need attention. I am sure running the Inn is a huge financial investment but upkeep is a necessity. When we got to... more

My mother, cousin, and I love this charming inn and stay here when we are in town. It is somewhat off the beaten path, but when you arrive, you feel as though you are in another time. While staying here, you are literally taken aback to the years before the Civil War. One can just imagine what it would have... more

I'm not sure what they do with their revenue, but they clearly do not reinvest it into maintaining their guest rooms. The mansion house is historically fascinating, and the folks there are very nice. BUT the quality of the rooms left much to be desired for the rate we payed ($135 and $155). The bedding covers and top pillows were... more

We decided at the last minute to visit Vicksburg and booked the lowest price room at the inn. When we arrived, the desk clerk asked us if we REALLY wanted to stay poolside or if we'd like a better room. I assumed that we'd have to pay a higher price for a better room. She told us to look around,... more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My wife and I had booked the Centennial suite for our first anniversary and we were highly disappointed. upon arrival we were taken alittle aback by the condition of the grounds. Upon checking in we were informed that our room was up on the hill behind the main house. Let me just... more

Two rooms with bath.and outside porch and chairs. Turn down service and after dinner sherry nice touch. I was glad I had reserved the Carriage house and not the cottages located across... more

My husband and I reserved a special one-night stay. The room was in the "carriage house" and overlooked the Mississippi River. Rooms were spacious and decor' beautiful. We felt elegance from the moment we walked in. Couldn't wait to get into the huge jacuzzi. Floors and bed strewn with fresh rose petals were so romantic and although we don't drink... more

The Inn has a lovely, historic mansion and grounds. There are some very interesting old decorative arts pieces (furniture, piano), and the property's history is interesting. Dinner was good but not great. We were given a cottage across the street, which was of good size and clean but much in need of a renovation. If you have a pet be... more
