My husband and I spent Halloween week 2008 in Vicksburg. We stayed in the Azaela Suite at the Cherry Street Cottages. With 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a cozy sitting room and a large kitchen, staying here was having the best amenities of home in a garden setting that was close to all attractions and it was peaceful. This was mostly a real vacation, but as an author I had taken along my newest mansucript to fine tune in order meet a November deadline with my publisher. I searched long to find the right lodging that would allow me (us) to unwind and would be quiet for the hours I needed to work (the extra bedroom in front was perfect, the light that comes in this bedroom is wonderful for reading by). The Cherry Street Cottages was the perfect choice. The proprietors, Betty and Ed Jackson are iconic of true Southern hospitality.
