The Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel is located in the north of Yellowstone park. The building is very nice, a historic building, and it is right next to the famous Hot Spring Terraces. It's a great location. However as it is very close to the entry gate, it might be just as efficient to stay in Gardiner for some less money.... More

the hotel is very historic and that is cool but as a hotel accommodation it is over priced and very basic. there was a sense of being nickled and dimed unlike other xantera hotels. for instance there is not even hot water set up in the room for tea or coffee if you are chilled but need to go down... What can we say. The hotel is located in an area where wildlife appear right outside your window. We were on the main floor. Upon checking into our room, there was a cute cuddly bear toy that was encased in an environmental sleeve reminding patrons to conserve and respect Yellowstone National Park and all the beautiful surroundings. I purchased the... More

The historic Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel is a great place to stay at during a winter visit to Yellowstone. The rooms are simple but adequate and and there is a restaurant on location so you don't have to drive for meals. Walking distance to the actual Mammoth Hot Springs and a short drive from the northwestern entrance to the park.... More

Remember when you are going to Yellowstone you are escaping the modern world. I visited the hotel and stayed in the main buliding not the cabins in January 2012. The rooms are just a bit smaller than the average hotel room. It is a historical building and upgrades are minimal. There is no TV ,and the rooms have a minimum of... More

The appearance is like entering a time warp back to the turn of the 20th century. Having said that it was very comfortable and although lacking in modern facilities, it was absolutely adequate and comfortable for my stay. Only problem was the electrical sockets were the old fashioned two pin type and no wifi. Reception said wifi will be available... More

We spent two nights at the mammoth springs hotel in Yellowstone National Park in January. The hotel is old and the rooms are adquate for the price. The lighting in each room is minimal but the beds are comfortable with adequate covers. The hotel sits in the middle of old Fort Yellowstone. You must walk across the street to get... More

My wife and I stayed here one night in Dec '11, and another two nights in Jan '12. We liked this hotel, but keep in mind it is old/historic. Built in the 1930's as a high-end hotel, it is well-maintained, but the heat and plumbing haven't changed significantly since construction. At least one of the hotel websites says accommodations are... More

This was the beginning of a week-long ski trip in Yellowstone National Park in December which I led for the Oregon Nordic Club. The feeling of this lodge is of magnificence and history. We stayed in rooms without a private bath, to reduce costs. The bath was down the hall. (Rooms with baths are also available, but cost more.) Each... More

As part of a road trip from Denver to Denver via Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore we stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights. Being May/June our hotel options were restricted somewhat by the Park opening dates and the weather. The hotel is located to the north of the park and its setting was wonderful. The hotel itself is... More
