As everyone says the campsite is basic but the amenities close by make up for that. Yosemite village is a short walk away where you can get anything you may have forgotten coming into the park, and the free shuttle is great. Then there's the bonus of being in among some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen!

And that is what Upper Pines is all about! We travelled here as part of our road trip in a 30ft RV with our 3 teenagers. As camps go it is probably pretty average but Yosemite Valley/Park is anything but average. Staying here means you can park up for a few days and use the Valley buses or your feet.... More

Firstly we only stayed for one night so we managed without showers etc. We were staying in an RV during September and the campsite wasn't actually full. It seems like the Yosemite campgrounds are great milk cows for the National Park, but in return the Park does not seem interested in feeding this cow well... Washrooms are very basic, no showers! Garbage pick up early in the morning sounds like war and very cramped spaces without any privacy. Generators running and noisy people arriving late at night.... More

If it wasn't for the scenic beauty surrounding the Pines campgrounds, I don’t think many would find it inviting. Stayed three nights. Great location - easy walking distance to Curry Village, upper valley walks and the shuttle - no need to move the car. Very cool having Halfdome and Glacier point looking over your shoulder at breakfast. Campsites were very busy and full - not the place for a quiet getaway. End of summer so getting a bit dusty... This is a good campground, however I find it a lot more tight to meneuver through the loops versus the Lower Pines campground across the road. Yes the sites are close together but the location is perfect. It Was noisy in the morning but very quiet at night after 10 PM. Showers are a five minute walk in Curry Villiage. Convenient location for shuttle stops. I would stay here again on my next visit
