For what it is Bintang Bolong is a very good lodge. This is not a luxury lodge but a basic simple and clean little lodge. We stayed here for 3 nights in December and were the only guests at the lodge. The accommodation was very simple and the bed not fantastically comfortable but it was clean. The deck was fantastic... Sometimes a place can have a great view and lovely nature but can be wrecked by the attitude of the staff; here I can only compliment a fabulous bunch of people who work hard to make your experience memorable and who know when to back off. Yes, the view is staggering (IF you are in one of the river front... More

I stayed one night at Bintang Bolon. The room was near the parking lot, the bathroom had no door and faced the bed, on top of it, it was quite smelly. The funniest thing is that these rooms are as expensive as the rooms facing the water. Overall, it just looks run down and it seems that the owner is... More

Stayed for the second time in April. Its really worth a visit even for one night. The lodges are basic but thats what adds to the ambience of this place. Its hidden at the end of a village. Lodges are on the river, with an excellent view. Evening meal was excellent, even in the dark. Quiet a few animal noises... More

Good location on the banks of the creek with huts on stilts leaning over the river. Rooms basic but large and clean with mossie nets and balcony. Excellent food at the restaurant but not much choice. More

Wow what a view. You just cannot stop looking at it. This was complemented by great food, pleasant staff and comfortable accommodation. The rooms are basic but clean and functional. They could just do with some new bed cloths. The food was by far the best we had whilst in Gambia. They also catered very well for vegetarians. The boat... More

After our touristy hotel in Kotu, Bintang Bolon was bliss. In fact my boyfriend says its the best place he's ever been. We travelled by taxi to Brikama and then after a 90 minute wait the bush taxi left for Bintang Bolon - stopping first to put air in the tyres, bags of cement and other sundries on the roof... More

I spend two nights in the Lodge, in one of those nice little huts on the river. I find it wonderful to sleep on the river, hearing the birds, smelling the salty water and feeling the soft wind. It's basic of course, but I had running water and electricity which is more than I can say from most of the... More

We stopped here just 1 night as we in Gambia for only a week. Its very peaceful, lovely to sit out over the water for evening meal and breakfast, both fairly simple but tasty, including veggie meal for our son. Drive is now less than 2 hours from the coast after recent re-surfacing. We hired a 4x4 from ABrentacar for... More

A wonderful location for a short stay. Exceptionally situated right along the river Gambia area. Rooms fairly basic, however, friendly service and nice Gambian food. Beautiful surrounding, ideal for those who like to include some wandering into their holidays. Very fair prices. We had a great time. More
