The camp is inside the game area and the wildlife are close, early morning dawn drives are a must .The camp has many overnight guests but 2 or 3 days is a better option to get the most out of the game. In the evening try John the barman for a stop an elephant cocktail! more

The forest landscape is amazing. As far as the resort is concerned, it is nothing unusual to spend a day at. The natural salt-lick makes this wonder marketable, but then apart from the giraffes (which you can spot anywhere in Kenya), you will see maybe some zebras. We didnt like the place as it seemed more like "going there for... more

Sweetwaters tented camp is situated in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. We stayed here for two nights. The Conservancy has an interesting selection of animals (including cheetah, black rhino and Grevy's zebra) in a relatively small space so you're fairly sure of seeing something interesting. The Chimp reserve is particularly interesting, but there is also a hippo hide and a blind... more

My daughter and I stayed at Sweetwaters in August 2009. Our tent was located on the ground level looking out at the water holes. Our first morning we came out of our tent to see two beautiful giraffe's drinking from the water hole. In the background was Mount Kenya, what a sight to be seen. The restaurant looks out over... more

I recently travelled to Kenya on a Safari with 9 members of my family. Many of us were very aprehensive about staying in Africa in a 'tent!', however our fears were soon overcome when we arrived at Sweetwaters! The tents are mostly on stilts, raised high above the ground and have a wooden cover over them. Inside they are huge,... more

I can't believe that anyone could write a negative review about this place. Walt Disney World? Give me a break. Unsantitary and unsafe? How can you blame unruly children on the property? That's a parental problem and the person should have dealt with it themselves. Ridiculous comments. This place is very very special and a great place for one or... more

The staff is extremely nice and interactive . The dining area gives you an uninterrupted view of the waterhole as the fence is in a ditch much below ground level . You even have a resident Marabou Stork and white ibis to beg for scraps - great for kids. When you are looking up at the sunset lighting up Mt... more

Stayed for two nights with husband and three year-old in middle of several weeks in Kenya. Appreciated staff and resort's willingness to help with requests of little ones - including having our own safari vehicle for the entirety of our stay. This allowed us to plan the scheduled departure times a little better to coincide or not with sleeping times.... more
