Coming to Nkwichi lodge was a huge treat. The beach is spectacular as are the rooms. While we were staying we made sure to walk to the incredible viewpoint and the baobab tree which is a must see sight. The staff were amazing very helpful, welcoming and made us feel at home. It was so relaxing each evening having a... More

I can't say enough good things about Nkwichi. The location could hardly be more perfect - a stretch of white-sand beach and forest along an unspoilt stretch of the Mozambique shore of Lake Malawi/Nyasa. We stayed for 4 nights in Nkwazi Chalet in late December, which has a great location (secluded, with its own private bay for snorkeling and swimming).... More

Took the family back to Nkwichi Lodge, having had such a fabulous first holiday there. Again w all massively enjoyed the trip. The lodge was equally accommodating and the food was fabulous. We stayed in a wonderful chalet with its own private beach and the teenagers had their own chalet. It is great to visit such a very beautiful location,... More

I travel a great deal, but have never come across a place so peaceful, utterly chilled, wild, and unspoiled. The beaches, lake, people and even the food (especially given how remote this place is) are all genuinely first class. A genuine wilderness destination, built with care, respect and passion. We went for two weeks, and were heart broken at having... More

After nearly 4 hours of 4x4 drive from Lichinga throuw local villages we arrive in Cobue where we dive in the true Mozambican atmosphere. A boat bring us to the unspoilt beach of the lodge, with an eagle welcoming our arrival and the squeaky sand accompanying every our step. There are no words to describe the beauty of this place,... This has to be the most wonderful place on the shores of Lake Niassa. We met an adult son working in Mozambique with our 2 other adult children there for a 4 night luxury holiday. They all plan honeymoons there at some future date! Within a stunning completely private and ethically run small 'boutique' resort. Attention to detail was unsurpassed,... More

What a special place in Africa! Our expectations were high but were surpassed. The journey to the lodge alone is worth going here. After a nice flight from Lilongwe to Likoma Island, you have to obtain a visa at the Mozambican "immigration office" in Cobue and then by boat to the lodge. Because the engine of the swift boat broke... More

Nkwichi was - is - one of the true highlights of our one and a half years in Africa. The location is incredible - secluded, isolated and beautiful. The beaches on this side of the lake are far superior to the ones in Malawi, and there is plenty of white sand here. Nkwichi itself is everything you could possibly want,... More

Travelled to Nkwichi Lodge via Nairobi, with my husband and three children aged 8, 15 and 17 years. We all absolutely loved the holiday. The location is stunning - isolated, beautiful and full of wonderful surprises. The local staff at the lodge are all charming and you feel that they are all very supportive of the project and keen to... More
