We are staying at The Elephant Crossing Hotel with a room that doesn't have a view for $50 a double. Too much for what is provided which is a very basic room. The staff are very nice and helpful but this town is so ugly, it's amazing how such a beautiful location can be destroyed by such ugly hotels &... More

We stayed at the Elephant Crossing Hotel in January, 2012. This hotel lacked maintenance. Everything in our room was either dirty or worn. There was a significant amount of old wood in our bedroom most of which was either chipped or discolored. The air conditioning unit in our bedroom was filthy and proved to be inadequate in the day heat.... More

I'm writing this from my room at Elephant Crossing. We paid $50 for a night in a Deluxe Queen room with a balcony over the water. I guess I should be happy to get such a low price but somehow I wish I could have paid a bit more and got a bit more. The room is shabby. The pipe... More

For the price we paid we would have expected a much nicer room. Especially the powersupply in the room was horrible. It almost fell of the wall and was stuck all over. Almost scary. The restaurantservice was also really slow and the food nothing special. The location though is really great, overlooking the river and some of the staff were... More

When we arrived here for a 1 night stay, we had to ask 4 times for the room key. We finally got it and the view was great, room was ok. We got 2 singles for my wife and I, thought we would get a double. Don, one of the bar men was fantastic and so was most of the... More

Five of our family stayed here for 8 days. The views are incredible, craggy limestone peaks across the Nam Song river. The food was fantastic, especially the soups, full of fresh ingredients straight from the hotels own gardens across the river. More

We have a standard room. It is small but comfortably furnished. We have a balcony and terrific views over the mountains and river. The hot shower was a blessing after the "VIP" bus trip from Vientiane. The riverside restaurant is in a lovely location and we had a lovely romantic meal last night by candlelight. The food was good and... More

Stayed at this hotel with a group of 14, all family members. We were booked in on part of a private tour that I had organised visiting Laos and Vietnam. We stayed at Elephant Crossing 2 nights and loved it. The rooms all had balconies overlooking the river which is just spectacular with the backdrop of beautiful mountains and the... More

Very good value for money $40-45 with superb views of limestone karst mountains on the banks of the river.Always try and book riverside facing rooms as for extra $5 there is a huge difference.Higher the floor the better the view.Actual rooms fairly small,no wardrobe? but it's the views that count!Lovely riverside restaurant with ever so friendly staff-take time out to... I spent 2 days here. This hotel has magnificent and incomparable views! Imagine you are in the middle of paradise, surrounded by the river & mountains. Room was good and clean, well equipped, and spacious. It’s cool for me to spend a whole day inside the room, because the room was very comfortable. Thank you for the great service and... More
