We stayed for 2 nights in the Garnet room in the Sumerville bungalow, which is in a stunning position overlooking Castereagh reservoir. The views are beautiful and we were able to take advantage of them sitting in our room's private garden and eating on the verandah. The food is superb - a set menu, but the chef checks that it... There isn't really a lot extra to add to previous reviews. Yep- it isn't cheap but it is worth it. Location is superb (we were at Norwood) - try to book at least two nights to get the best- it is a bit of an arduous trek. Do join the tea tour. The chap that hosts it is so charming... More

My husband and I spent the first three nights of our honeymoon at Tea Trails, and stayed in Summerville. Our trip was in October 2011. He could not have picked a better spot. The view from Summerville is breathtaking: the lake, the valley, the gorgeously maintained grounds. The staff is impeccable -- they perfectly balance pampering you and attending to... More

Arrived at Summerville, we were greeted by the gracious Sanat and escorted out to the veranda to enjoy high tea. I stepped outside and i swear my heart skipped a beat. I have never seen anything so beautiful. The setting is magical overlooking this unusual lake with little islands in the middle of it while all around are terraces of... More

When we decided we would do a week vacation in Sri Lanka, Ceylon Tea Trails was the first hotel we look into. We planned only a month in advance. So, All the rooms were almost full. Tientsin was the only bungalow available. We stay 2 nights in different room. The fist night we stayed at the room that has a... More

Tea Trails bungalows (I visited Norwood and stayed at Castlereigh) are 1) Beautifully located 2) Well appointed 3) Have good service 4) Have awesome food. Pricing/value for money is hard to pin down since bench marking is difficult in Sri Lanka for this type of property, As such I believe each visitor will have to make her/his mind up. If... More

This is my idea of heaven. A totally spoiling experience, which never feels clinical in the way one sometimes finds in smart hotels. Apart from the glorious location, the staff are what make this place so special. Ever since we left, we have been plotting our return... More

We stayed 3 days in Tientsin, It was the most amazing experience ever, The service is second to none, and the food wonderful. It was so peaceful and the walks around the tea plantation, and speaking to the locals, (who are all really nice) was a lovely experience. More

The highlight of our holiday ! The food is exquisite. In the Summerville bungalow it needs a shower rail or a stand alone shower. The service was just unbelievable. More

This is outstanding. We stayed for two nights in January (one night in Tientsin, one in Summerville). As it's top-end, you expect all of the aesthetics, service and fine dining. But the highlight is the local environment. Particularly at Tientsin and Norwood, you are right amongst the plantations and they are a sight to behold. (Wander out at sunrise and... More
