In June, my wife and I traveled to France for our two week honeymoon and spent five days in Carlucet with Eric and Helen. Over the course of our two week trip we traveled about the country staying at B&B's, many of which were highly recommended by this site. While all were adequate, our stay at Les Charmes de Carlucet... more

We had a fabulous trip traveling 2,000 miles in the French Countryside. It couldn't have been better & then we arrived at Les Charmes de Carlucet---the best of all! It certainly exceeded all our expectations. Helen & Eric were so very hospitable & made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were delicious & the atmosphere & ambiance, spectacular! They... more

This is a home away from home, and is probably one of the best B&B we have ever stayed. We have enjoyed family holidays here with the kids, and also restfull weekend breaks with friends.. There are so many activities in the area, there is a fantastic French / Irish style pub just a small walk away from the main... more

We chose this B&B based on Tripadvisor reviews and had an wonderful time. Eric and Helen could not be more charming, helpful, and informative. Great ideas and all the specifics/logistics for sightseeing, canoeing, restaurants (try 'The Place' 5 min away), prehistoric caves, the best medieval villages, castles, even the fois gras farm my husband wanted to see. We stayed for... more

Lovely stone house (plus barns for self-catering) all beautifully renovated with high quality fittings etc. Like staying in a good hotel but with the added advantage of a warm welcome from Eric and Helen, the owners. There's even a pool house with a loo, shower & sauna, plus a fridge and microwave for your picnics, which shows the attention to... more

I discoved Les Charmes on the internet and have to say that the web does not do this place justice. Our hosts were wonderful and did not hesitate to not only tell us where to visit but also where to eat and helped us with car hire and travel arrangements. The house was extremely well appointed with everything that you... more

Having looked at the website prior to flying to the Dordogne in early May, the house and grounds looked impressive. I can honestly say that on arrival, the pictures and description really don't do it justice. Above all else, the warmth and generosity of the hospitality shown by Eric, Helen and their family, is overwhelming. I will certainly be returning... more
