We spent two days in Castle Durrow attending a wedding and are still glowing from the wonderful time we had there. It was a perfect stay in every way. The rooms, atmosphere, food, service, decoration and welcome were superb. The public areas are lovely and comfortable, with roaring fires as a centre piece in each room, and long picture windows... more

We have just returned from a one night stay at Castle Durrow (far too short a stay!) and had a wonderful time. Very atmospheric for a Halloween night and lots of lit pumpkins scattered about the place. I had mislaid my gift voucher which although drove me a little crazy trying to locate it before travelling, the girls at reception... more

Stayed for one night at a wedding celebration. The service in the hotel from welcome to check-out was first class and very friendly. There are lots of nice touches, from complementary water and tea and coffee to lots of Molton Brown products in the rooms. The hotel has a lot of character and the rooms have different themes and locations,... more

Castle Durrow is a lovely place. The staff were extremely good, the house (it's not actually a castle - more a stately home) and grounds beautiful, and the food really good. Yes it's a bit worn in places but how could you expect anything else from an 18th century country manor. It's completely authentic and much better than some of... more

Our daughter's wedding reception held there in September 2009. From the minute we went to see the Hotel, to booking and the wedding itself we found all staff efficient, friendly and discreet. The wedding co-ordinator was excellent. No stone was left unturned. We booked then before the wedding went and stayed to taste and choose the menu for the big... more

I stayed in Castle Durrow for a wedding in July and it was GORGEOUS! I stayed in a single room in the 'attic' of the original house but unlike most single rooms it had a big double bed and was decorated with red Japanese-style wallpaper and a big mahogany armoire. Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom gave an extra touch... more

We stayed here in July for a wedding. Having been to many "castles" in Ireland for weddings I knew that Durrow was an estate house rather than a Castle. The staff were friendly and the food was good but standard of accommodation was poor. We stayed in a room by the gardens which by the prices we assumed would be... more

I returned to Castle Durrow after having stayed there last year. Once again we had a really nice relaxing time which is easy to do when you are surrounded by such beauty. Service once again was excellent. My 21 month old daugter came with us this time and had a fantatsic time. Our huge family room was beside a specially... more

We chose Castle Durrow from the Blue Book and knew that the standard would be good however we were more than pleasantly surprised as we had been measuring all of our experiences with hotels and breaks to our honeymoon stay at Ballinahinch Castle last year. We thought we would not experience anything remotely like this again - the staff were... more
