It just doesn't get much better than this. We had a warm room with a view, king bed, and small well appointed en suite bathroom. Then to top it off we were treated to tea and biscuits and great conversation. Jo taught for a year in a school district near us and Ian kept us laughing with a great sense... more

Thank you so much for posting a great review. It is a small world when we find that we have lived/visited the areas that our guests have come from. We did enjoy your company. Best regards Jo and Ian

My wife and I spent one (and unfortunately only one) night in Wanaka at Harpers and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The owners could not have been more friendly; they made us feel right at home in their home (a complementary cup of tea and home-made muffin was a lovely touch). Our room (right in the owners home) was... more

Having never been to a bed and breakfast before, I was a bit apprehensive about the stay, but my worries quickly vanished after a cup of tea in a comfortable home with wonderful hosts. What made the stay was definitely Ian and Jo-- it was my first time traveling to New Zealand (let alone traveling at all) and they not... more

My friend and I stayed with Jo and Ian for 2 nights while we were in Wanaka and had a lovely time. We had stayed the night before in a backpackers and had not been able to sleep, so finding Harpers with its quiet and friendly atmosphere, warm and comfortable beds, and excellent breakfast was a pleasant surprise! We were... more

My partner and I stayed with Jo and Ian for 1 night, and it really was like we were dropping in on relatives, they are so warm and chatty. Breakfast was plentiful, as was the conversation around the dining table. Jo and Ian are well travelled, and armed with many stories, all of which you want from great hosts. The... more

My new (!) husband and I traveled to Wanaka for part of our honeymoon and stayed with Jo and Ian. The only bad thing we have to say about it is that we only stayed one night--we wish we could have stayed longer! They are the nicest people and were full of great ideas and helpful tips for our travels.... more

My daughter and I stayed with Jo and Ian, and had a blast. They helped make our stay special. Very nice and warm people. Ian had me laughing the whole time I was there (2 nights). Jo asked us where we were heading after we left Harpers, and gave us a page of cool stops along the way. That was... more

We spent just one night at Harpers with Jo and Ian and wished we could have stayed longer. We were amazed by the natural beauty of Wanaka, not to mention Jo's gardens! This was the first B&B my husband and I had ever stayed at and I think we've been spoiled. Jo and Ian were so welcoming and knowledgable on... more

This is my home away from home. I have stayed many times with Jo and Ian and enjoyed their company every time. They are wonderful hosts and spoil their guests with home baked goodies and a delicious breakfast. In my opinion this is the very best place to stay in Wanaka! more
