Arrived ewpecting good views of Mountians and possibly the lake but the hotel is surrounded by trees and in fact there is no view at all. This place didn't look like much from the outside but we were in heaven when we saw the room! It was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchenette and 1.5 bathrooms, fireplace, flat screen TV, stereo/dvd player and huge puffy chairs and sofa. Ahhh! I stay in the Mount Aspiring Hotel. The name may have changed. I agree with the previous comment that the location may not be convenient but we travel by car so we have no problem with that. Stayed here in February '05 for a night. OK hotel. The rooms were nice enough, with an alpine theme, but the shower was the worst that we had anywhere - maybe just bad luck. Service at check-in wasn't great. They seem to cater to tour groups, and were more interested in making sure their next group was taken care of... more
