Te Wanaka Lodge was very clean and inviting. Cheryl was an exceptional host (and chef!) and gave great suggestions for our brief and unexpected visit to Wanaka. Rooms were quaint and reminded us of a British B&B. Perfect for a night or two. Only complaint was that internet wi-fi was difficult to use.

I really love this place.. I stayed there on a night before i went skiing in Queenstown and the folks there are really friendly. the rooms are a bit small, but they are clean, and well kept. The breakfast was great, felt like a homely environment and the hosts make you feel at home. At night, enjoy a quiet book... More

Warm and cozy common areas welcome you. The breakfast served is wonderful. The rooms are small but crisp and clean. The staff is very attentive, they actually arranged a flight for me to Milford Sound for a day trip.

Only stayed one night but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom had a powerful shower. Despite being close to the town centre and road the room was quiet. Simply styled rooms with a Scandinavian feel. Nice sitting room area and lovely big dining table to share with guests and lovely breakfast. Lots of nooks and crannies to investigate. Within... More

Stayed here for only one night. The beds are comfortable and the heater worked well given we arrived the first day snow fell for year 2013. There is a nice living area to hang and the only place you can get wi-fi. Location is great as it is close to all the restaurants and you walk past a creek on... More

Convenient to the town centre, with a nice garden feel. The owner, Wayne, was very friendly and helpful. Free hot drinks always available in two comfortable guest lounges, also cake in the afternoon! We particularly enjoyed the very good breakfast around one large sociable table. There was a nice wooden hot tub in the garden. The bed was very comfortable,... More

My wife and I spent four nights at Te Wanaka in February. Despite being full for most of our stay the Lodge continued to function smoothly. Wayne is a good host. Tea, coffee and the daily papers being readily available add a nice touch. Breakfast is good. Beds comfortable and all areas clean.

Stayed here with my husband in early January for two nightsand we were delighted with our choice. We arrived from Queenstown a couple of hours before "official" checking in time - "no problem, just leave your bags with us and we will have your room ready as soon as possible". When we checked in, still early, we were given a... More

I spent two nights with my wife. The hosts are very friendly and breakfast is nice but room we got was very small. No view in spite of a promise we got. The morning cleanup of the room took one minute and was not satisfactory. Too hot in the room and if you open the window you lose privacy and... More

The double room we booked was not really what we had expected. Although equipped with a King sized bed the room was very small, the bathroom had only cheap interior equipment. But what bothered us most was the fact that the room temperature at 4 P.M. was about 30 degrees (room was right below the roof) and there was no... More

Thank you for your feedback, I am sorry you did not feel you wanted to stay at our property. We placed you into a room with a King sized bed as per your specific request. You are correct that we do not have air conditioning in our rooms. We do recommend that our guests do open windows or the ranch... More
