Stayed here for 2 nights in the "Barlimans" Hobbit themed room, and it's a place that is to be recommended. The proprietor, Gary, is an excellent host, the rooms are great, the place has a terrific ambience, and the breakfast is well worth the visit alone. Couldnt recommend the place highly enough. more

Found the bed very hard and the room small/crammed for the price being charge. Very little personal space to relax and enjoy the atmosphere/surroundings. Gary, our host, offered above-and-beyond the call of duty service. He was personable, friendly, and helpful. His knowledge of the Wanaka area and willingness to suggest walking areas was very helpful. The room was great - really clean and modern, yet at the same time charming and homey.
