This was our worst stay in NZ. It was tiny and the layout was poor with the bed being right up against the front window - so it was noisy with the window open plus you had the all-pervasive smell of the Indian restaurant which the motel is behind. We stayed one night at the Alpine Motel Apartments. We got a cheap rate of $120 NZ which was one of the corner rooms. The room was ok but you knew from the look of the key how old the inside was going to look - it was tidy but really needs updating. We went to Wanaka in March 2008... more
