We had a seaside room, at high tide the waves were up to the sun deck. Quite fantastic if you like to hear the sea all around the clock. On booking they insisted for us to be half board. It was a bad decision to accept. Many things were not available on the menu and we even got sick. Also... more

We thought this place was awesome. For $50 a night you can get an average room with no air con but how much do you stay in your room in beautiful Nungwi? We ended up coming back for Christmas and for $90 got an air conditioned room. The location is perfect, its in a quite area but only a 5... more

For 90 US dollars a night this is definitely not worth it. The room is small with no aircon. Its like a school dormitory. The shower pressure is so bad it is not possible to have a decent shower even in cold water. There is not even enough light in the room to read a book a night. We asked... more

After a safari in Tanzania, we decided for 8 nights in Zanzibar. Having heard this was a quiet resort, we booked in with the property directly. Room was average size, but with a balcony directly over the sea when the tide was in. too many cats however and these took over our chairs at night time Our first purchase when... more

We spent an awesome few days in Zanzibar staying at Amaan Bungalows in Nungwi. It is one of the bigger places along this stretch of coast but they have a choice of rooms, we stayed in the cheapest garden view rooms for $50 (for the room with breakfast) but you can also get sea view ones etc. There's some really... more

As we arrived during busy season, we took the first availbable room at Amaan - USD90 per night on stilts in the blue water!! The rooms are basic, but very clean. It is advisable to take a seaview room. Worth every cent. The Fat Fish restaurant is very happy to deliver food to your room at Amaan. more

We were dropped off here by the share private minibus and checked the place next door before taking it. We stayed three nights which was enough but the bungalows were nice and clean. Walked to kendwa beach the first day but got cut off by the tide from getting back and it was a real pain in the [--] getting... more

We stayed at the Amaan in Nungwi for four nights. Rooms were clean but basic and got incredibly damp due to the closeness of the ocean. The balconies overlooking the ocean are ok but not properly separated from other rooms. After four nights we moved to a hotel in Kendwa which was half the price from Nungwi. The beach in... more
