Fantastic location on the most beautiful beach, spacious and confortable rooms, good food and facilities and great service...what more to ask for? Special thanks to the very friendly and professional management (the director is certainly not an Afrikaaner as mentioned in a comment below).

This place is hugely overrated. I wasn't going to be picky with a Tanzaninan hotel, but this one deserves to be picked on. Right from the start the service was terrible. Our baggage was left at the reception to be brought by the staff, while we marched to the most remote villa on the premises. When after half an hour... More

i enjoy the sparkling white sandy beaches of kiwenga on the coast of Zanzibar, oh ....the wide range of amazing facilities while at the resort where so helpful to captivate the romantic magic of my stay in Zanzibar..the rooms where so tastefully decorated using traditional furniture. you cannot miss out on the makuti resturant's mouth watering meals and the modern... Although the complaints of others do have resonance, we had a lovely sojourn here ourselves. I'm sure it helped that we were on a low off-season deal. There was a certain amount of confusion and lack of follow through but that was not unusual in Zanzibar and we really did feel that everyone at Bluebay was more than obliging. The... More

I stayed at the Bluebay resort for a week in early April, 2013 and had a very relaxing time. I was prepared to give them a good review, but then it came time to settle the bill, which as the previous review stated, left a sour taste in my mouth, such that I will never recommend this place to anyone...... This hotel was a bit run-down and could use refurbishment! I was surprised at how good the food was, considering how many people they have to feed. You get tired of buffets in a hurry, (especially since all of their restaurants are outside and flies on the food are a big problem) but they mixed it up with a la... More

This hotel needs to have a revamping. The service is not good, its not well maintained which is evident by the cold "hot tub" and the bugs everywhere. We stayed at many different hotels in Tanzania, and this one by far had the most bugs. They have a bar, but the server for the bar is off somewhere else. We... More

We stayed for a week, in feb.2011, and we had an absolutely perfect stay!! Everyone working there is so friendly, everyone says jambo! The food was very good, allthough the service at the bahari beach bar could be better. They had entertainment several nights after dinner(masaidancing, african dancing etc). The spa area is absolutely worth a visit or two, induldge... More

We stayed at the hotel a week from 6 to 13 february. We got a nice room on the second floor (203) with a huge double bed with mosquito net around. Very comfortable bed. The room was large and had a "walk-in closet. Bathroom was spacious and the shower great and good. Balcony was also large and had two" armchairs... More

The staff at the Bluebay resort are genuinely trying their best to satisfy their guests and they should be rewarded for their efforts. Unfortunately it does not help the guest experience that the hotel charge for everything, incl. wifi and towels, which is fine for a business hotel but not for a leisure destination in my mind. Pricelevels are quite... More
