Cathy and Jean Claude, the owners, are warm, inviting and welcoming hosts. You could not ask for any better. Their home is a 4 story "Grand Maison" they have carefully restored and furnished with excellent furniture and objects that they have purchased over the years. There are 4 rooms for guests all large and ample room for suitcases. We had Harmonie room that had a bath area as large as the room. Breakfast is served in the garden (weather permitting) on the patio. You will likely be visited by and kept company by Silk the very friendly and docile cat. This is a B&B for couples to families with children of all ages. You will not be disappointed. In the area be sure to visit Canyon du Vernon, Aups and Moustiers. Can be done in one day.

We visited La Grande Maison in Cotignac August 2008 and just had to tell you all about it. There is nothing negative at all, just a few of the things that make it stand out: 1. The couple who owns it are such a great couple! Not in your face obtrusive, but so helpful and forthcoming. Even our sons who are in the 'nothing-our-parents-like-we-will-like' age, took to this couple and house as well. Cathy had her leg in a plaster when we were there, but she did not let that dampen her cheerful personality one bit. Jean-Claude took charge of all things practical and we felt like friends visiting friends. 2. The house itself and the rooms are fantastic, go to their website and see for yourselves. The breakfast is served on fine china and silverware... Also, such a lovely garden and pool! And it's right in the middle of Cotignac, so walking distance to everything. 3. Cotignac and its surroundings are great, if you visit Provence then you must not miss this place. It's a working village, not a tourist village, and as such is quite noisy and bustling, but just a little walk outside of it are vineyards, calm and beautiful vistas. It is also close to Gorge Verdon in one direction and the sea in the other. The restaurants are plenty and very nice, just ask Jean-Claude to recommend which one. So all in all, we had a great 3 days/nights in Cotignac and La Grande Maison and can't wait to come back. Kajsa & Dan + boys!…
