Just back from a fantastic ski holiday in Flaine. We paid extra for a 3 room (ie 2 bedroom) apt for us and our 2 children (11 and 8) and found the apartment to be so spacious. It was clean, very well equipped and even supplied a free cleaning kit with dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, cloths and tea towels.... More

This was my third time in flaine. On the other occasions we stayed in the hotel beside this...Madame vacance terrasse de veret. There is no comparison. This hotel and its facilities are far superior. Been staying in French Ski Apts for nearly 20yrs. This was the biggest and the best equipped so far! Some UK tv channels (free), a kettle, quilts, a real sprung sofa bed, mugs, free dishwasher tablets, free towels n tea towels, wifi in room (charged), takeaway pizza and small supermarket on ground floor and best of all heated boot racks... 1. Rooms are dirty and way too small. Five people in a three person apartment. The carpet smells like feet & the bed was a nightmare for your back. 2. Stayed at the Residence La Foret last week, and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. We were in a two bedroom fourth floor apartment which was listed as being for up to 7 people, we had 4 adults and it was very comfortable, any more and it would have been a squeeze but these places always come up... Stay away from first floor apartments, Flying Dutchman bar so loud.Our 1 bedroom apartment was tiny & filthy.Having said that, staff were very helpful and moved us to a bigger apartment on a higher floor, for a small fee of course. Ski & boot room a welcome bonus.

First impressions were as expected - a concrete jungle but we knew this. External looks dont really matter with a hotel. Was however really shocked at the room sizes.
