we found this place by chance when we where in balestrand. the location is great. there is an old building and a new one. we were in the new one with a view on the fjord. comfort was correct . clean as usually in norway. the old house has the breakfast room and leisure rooms. the manager was helpful. parking... more

The Midtnes is located in the middle of a picturesque town. The rooms are basic, but very clean and have balconies with partial views of the fjord. No television, but around such beautiful nature, one should not need it. Good breakfast, but not many restaurants in town. more

I have to agree with the others that mentioned that the web site description of the property is misleading. The Midtnes is certainly a business of convenience, they have a captive market and know it so there is no need to do much for service. One of the more affordable (for Norway) accomodations in Balestrand. A pleasant experience overall, breakfast buffet was good quality and variety (cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, breads, pickled herring, plus periodically refreshed hot dishes).
