Like the reviewer before me, I had a bit of difficulty to get to the Parador with the road closed, as I got a bit lost. I ended up asking directions and was told by a nice local that I was going the wrong direction on the road but if I drove quickly down the hill, it was right at... more

Nothing quite prepares you for Chinchon. It is reached along country lanes, and the outskirts of the town lead you down increasingly narrow ,steep streets, eventually into the Plaza Mayor. The plaza is circular and sandy, and apparently doubles as a bullring. It is surrounded by quaint, characterful buildings with narrow wooden balconies. Most are restaurants and bars, and the... more

We stayed for 2 nights in July 2009. This is probably the 5th or 6th time we have visited this Parador over the years, and it remains a favourite. Access to the Parador in July was made difficult by road works at the bottom of Chinchon blocking the easiest access. An alternative route is signposted, but not all that clearly.... more

We loved our stay at the Parador at Chinchon. We have stayed at several other paradors around Spain over the years but this is my favourite. It's got bags of character, but we were also made very welcome, especially our 7 yo son who was a great hit with the staff who vied to give him the most sweets! The... more

This is definitely one of the nicer paradores. Location is excellent - next to Plaza Mayor. You can avoid the relatively expensive dinner at the parador and enjoy one of the many pleasant restaurants nearby. We stayed in a charming room and the place seemed very clean. Staff, mostly at the restaurant, could be more attentive. Less than an hour... more

Stayed on a 5 night card basis from June 24th 2007. Room very good standard including bathroom. Breakfast very good with some fresh orange and fresh fruit, many cereals, cheese/meat etc..older spanish waitresses rarely smile and tend to bark. Younger staff more pleasant and do smile! Very dissapointed with evening meal; poor choices and basic ingredients... the clams reminded me... more

This is a very nice Parador converted from a former convent. Located right beside the lovely Plaza Major. Large, well equipped bedroom & bathroom. Nice views out over the roof tops to the castle on the edge of the town. Very quiet at night. Dinner good, with selection of local dishes and reasonable value (28 euro) set price for a... more

We had a nice room with an enormous bed. Nicely furnished and nice clean modern bathroom. View over rooftops and mountains. Parador staff were not very friendly on check-in (no English spoken and very surly) - on checkout were slightly better. The hotel buildings and surrounding garden was charming. No real bar or lounge area - only a Taberna which... more

I agree with previous reviews. We stayed at this Parador in Jan. 2005. It was our favorite of the five Paradors we visited (Leon, Lerma, Toledo and Olite). For us, the Parador alone was worth the visit to Chinchon! more
