I just read through the other reviews and figured I must have stayed at some other hotel. Or maybe I'm just easily pleased. Let's cut to the chase. Tarbert is Tarbert not Monte Carlo - or even Glasgow. Externally the hotel is best described as "quaint and in need of some T.L.C." Fair enough... do you know where this place... more

I am a solo traveller who likes to get away for my holidays each year on a coach trip somewhere nice. Well, I have hated my holiday this year and would have gladly come home early. What a dreadful experience from start to finish. This hotel has no redeemig features; it is dirty, the service is slovenly at best, the... more

We stayed 1 night at this hotel. I must admit on the night I liked the room I was given. It was not great, nor clean, but it had a double bed, big bathroom and was very quiet. Service checking in, checking out and during breakfast left a lot to be desired. Checking in, we had booked 2 rooms, but... more

This is a place to avoid. It is unclean, the staff are unhelpful and the food is at best described as being basic. I felt sorry for anyone spending time in this place whilst on their holidays. It is embarrassing for the tourist trade. My room had supposedly been refurbished but had not even been clean. The only factual point... more

Spent two nights in harbour view room which was filthy on arrival and never cleaned during our stay.Clean towels (if you could call them that, more like rags) and spare toilet roll dumped outside room. Service was non existent, as main business appeared to be the newly refurbished bar and restaurant. Restaurant was a differnet matter. Excellent food in bar... more

Stayed here in October after staying at the music festival in September (don't remember much of that one)! Was a halloween night happening and everybody seemed to be having a great time (especially the guy apparently dressed as a taleban on a horse - later found out he was the headless horseman!). Hotel is very simple and my room was... more

This hotel is filthy! I have posted pictures to prove this. Colleagues in 2 other rooms said there rooms were just as bad. Most things in the room was either falling apart or filthy. There was a creaky floorboard and a door that never shut quietly outside my room and every time somebody walked past the room you knew about... more

DO NOT STAY HERE We booked to stay at this hotel for 4 nights, arriving late on the 1st night, as soon as we walked in it was obvious the information on the web site was misleading it tells you the hotel has been rebfurbished we did not find this to be the case. As it was late we felt... more

Stayed in this hotel for one night only, thank goodness. Tarbert is lovely little fishing village and the hotel has a prime location. The hotel is definitely needing upgrading. The decore and furniture are outdated and the bathroom although clean is needing new tiles and fittings. Our room was located above the bar area and was very noisy. The bar... more

Functional 3* accommodation, in a great location. Fine for a cheapish break, but you will not be remotely near to spoiling yourself or anyone else. Staff are willing, but appear to be unable to deviate from norm. Breakfast is standard fare. The evening meal is, as previously reviewed, of a works canteen standard. Veggies have only one "option". As vegans,... more
