We stayed at the Moorings, our second visit - last time with French friends, this time with friends from Australia. Andrew is the perfect host. The Moorings is spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming. The breakfasts are enormous and perfectly prepared. The view from the front breakfast room is superb (especially in the bright sunshine that we had) and Andrew is... more

Andrew is the pleasant, helpful and attentive host of the Moorings B&B. His home is a traditional fisherman's cottage which looks out over the harbour entrance. The bedroom was clean and cozy, and the bed very comfortable; there was a substantial breakfast! more

Each praise written in the other raitings are true. This is a lovely place with a great host. We've spent 14 days in Scotland in different B&B's but this was one of our favourites. Andrew is such a nice guy and runs the B&B with style and passion. Ask him for the double room everyone recommends. It's really enjoyable and... more

If Kim and Aggie are the Teachers then Andrew is the Headboy - his housekeeping skills are second to none. Andrew is a most welcoming host and The Moorings enjoys a fabulous location. If your enjoyment of B&B`s has been spoiled by uncomfortable beds then be prepared to experience the complete opposite at The Moorings - a good nights sleep is... more

So much has already been said about Andrew and the Mooring's that I don't want this to sound like I'm just repeating it all again, however Andrew (& Cara) were the perfect hosts from start to finish and from the moment we arrived it felt like visiting an old friend. The room was lovely and clean and really well presented,... more

From the moment you enter Andrew's enchanted garden, you know you are in a very special place. The house is a treasure trove of delights- collections of this and that, that amaze and delight your senses. And Andrew, himself, is a delight - friendly and accomodating, full of lore, laughter and tips on where to eat and drink in the... more

So much has already been written about Andrew McDiarmid's charming fisherman's cottage, I will just add how delightfully sensory this place is. From the perfect sea view and the accompanying waves on the sound machine to the scented candles and beautifully dressed windows, Andrew's home is a mecca. His warmth and generosity fills this old cottage with Scottish magic. Close... more
