My locum agency booked me in for ten days so I didnt know what to expect. And then me and my wife encountered the most beautiful, tidy and clean B&B we had ever seen travelling thru the world since five years. Andrew the owner creates a familial atmosphere with very individually furnished rooms, equipped with so many lovely details such... more

We were visiting Tarbert for the Seafood Festival, and wanted somewhere central to stay. The Moorings was perfect in every way. The bed was definitely the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room was spotless, and Andrew made the whole stay fun and enjoyable. The view over the Loch was perfect whilst sitting enjoying a great Scottish... more

We spent one night at The Moorings in Tarbert, Scotland. It is a lovely place and our host, Andrew, was friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfy and luxurious-definitely the best mattress ever in a B & B! Andrew served a delicious full Scottish breakfast in the breakfast room/lounge. The room had a lovely view of the harbor and loch.... more

We have just spent a couple of nights at the Moorings B & B in Tarbert with two friends from England. We had visited the Moorings several years ago on our own and were so impressed with the friendliness and service that we decided to return. We were not disappointed, it is still one of the loveliest B & Bs... more

We found The Moorings by chance and were very pleased that we did. The room, though small, had the most comfortable bed and the exotic 'bed furnishings' I've ever seen. Every corner of the house and garden held a surprise. Andrew, the host pays a lot of attention to every little detail and the house was immaculate. Breakfast was enough... more

My Carmichael ancestors home - a wonderful stay and Andrew a friendly and caring host. Even an early morning breakfast on the day I left was no trouble. Thank you Andrew I will return - pity there were no Carmichael ghosts to visit me while I was there. Roberta New Zealand more

We needed accommodation close to the Kennacraig ferry to Islay and when we found The Moorings online from Canada, thought the bedrooms looked extremely comfortable. We were not disappointed - everything was perfect, from Andrew's warm welcome at the door to his hug when we left. The room and ensuite bathroom were spotlessly clean, the bed firm, the bedding luxurious... more

arriving late at night with no where to stay, we came across The Moorings B&B, and were made more than welcome by Andrew MacDiarmid. Our overnight stay in one of his beautifully furnished rooms was just what we needed, followed by an ample breakfast. I would absolutely recommend this establishment to anyone passing through this beautiful part of Scotland. more

having turned up twice to stay unexpectantly i can highly recommend the moorings, and the service its proprieter gives. the rooms are warm, spotless and comfortable, i have not tried the breakfast yet as have always had to leave early but if it is as good as the rest of the service then its bound to be excellent. more

I had single occupancy of a nicely furnished very small en suite double room for £35 B&B. Room was much too small for a double. The bed was in a corner & the room was the length of the bed plus the door & the width was that of the bed plus about 3 feet. No hanging space for clothes... more
